Seeing a lot of objective journalism out there from the mainstream media about how this hire was "messy" from CNN and "clumsy" by that idiot Pete Thamel from ESPN.

When in reality, this is exactly how you want the search to happen. Under the radar, and quietly getting your ducks in a row, and making sure it crosses the finish line. Just like we did with Kiffin.

Then they talk about how much dead money we have on the books from football and basketball buyouts, when no one should give two shites about it when:

1. The fans aren't paying the buyouts
2. You see who we brought in and look at the current state of both programs now compared to what they were.

A lot to be excited about in LSU athletics in the future.

We kept being told that LSU is a poor school in a poor state.

Now we are clumsy and messy.

I'll take LSU throwing around cash like it's nothing to grab the best coaches available.

Louisiana is the only state that has damn near the entire population behind LSU. Sure the ULL queers like to boast from time to time but that's a very small contingent.

When LSU is good at sports- it prints money for the University and the State. It is without a doubt the best investment we can make in the state.

Liberal networks complaining about something that won’t really matter in a week. What else is new.

Pete Thamel being all over our “dead money” being thrown around in our athletic department, yet these terms are not used with other schools. They can cry all they want.

The new media talking point is the total amount spent on coaches and players in both sports. They continue to frame as though LSU is on the hook for $180m+ next year.

It certainly wasn’t messy, you identified the guy you wanted and got him

But it also definitely wasn’t “under the radar” lol

Maybe not for Kiffin, even though I think LSU handled that entire situation masterfully. You didn't hear a peep from our side and anything that was getting out was coming from Ole Miss's side.

There wasn't some huge lead up from the media about it for this coaching search. Mostly just speculation on sites like this and podcasts, but pretty air tight for the most part.

Really didn't hear about how we actually courting him from the media until Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.

A big part of that is we never actually fired McMahon until we had Wade in the bag. Then we pulled the trigger.

There were some parts of both processes that were not ideally handled, but neither seemed "messy" to me.

With both, there were communication issues related to LSU's official communications and leaks. But both of those seemed to initially leak from the other school's fan base, something LSU had no control over.

The biggest bad look for LSU with the Will Wade/Matt McMahon series of events is that it seemed to leave Matt McMahon twisting in the wind. I'm not sure if I have seen an official LSU statement regarding his termination yet, though I could easily have missed that.

The leftist media are both stupid and liars.

They sometimes purposely use the wrong words and other times it’s just them being dumb.

I have seen crying about LSU spending 200M in the year on buyouts and salaries and rosters, of course it’s not true the only one year expense in their numbers are the rosters.

I’m not paying close attn. Thought I read buyout decreased by $1mln within week. Wait a few days and save $1mln.

That part of “messy”?

There was one small sentence in the release announcing Wade that just said he replaced McMahon, but that's all I've seen.

Better to have said when the state isn't funding the buyout.

Neither coach was available. But LSU sure did take them.

Yeah I don’t agree with those words “clumsy” or “messy” either. Like or dislike Wade or LSU, the process itself on LSU’s side was perfect and well-orchestrated… targeted your guy, made admin moves to get said guy, everything stayed pretty damn quiet relative to most coaching searches, got your guy.
