Verge / Schroyer positions questions

SIAP, but does anyone have a clear understanding of how Schroyer new position fits into the hierarchy of the athletic department? Are he and Verge equals now? Obviously it was reported that Wade reports into Schroyer but other than that seems murky. Just curious

Verge is the money man. He’s better at it than Woodward who despite his faults, knew how to get money. Typical democrat.
Schroyer is the books guy.
Schroyer is the books guy.

He makes sure everyone's grades are good. What does that mean.

It means verge was anti wade last go around and wade wasn’t going to report to him.

New AD structure
Verge - Football
Heath - Basketball
Saban told them to compartmentalize the 3 majors and run it like professional orgs do

Verge is the face guy and chief fundraiser and in charge of football ( and all other sports except mensbasketball ). Schroyer is in charge of the money for basketball I think other big schools have started to do this. The only 2 sports that matter are football and men’s basketball

They graduate with on average a top 3 starting salary for undergraduates in the SEC?
Not sure I understand your point.

Good, this means our leadership and key boosters value Wade more than Verge.
Good for Wade to create an org structure that will support him and get success. It’s time to move Verge to TAF.

Seems like to me they're going to structure an athletic dept that will have "go to" ADs for their respective sports. Wouldn't surprise me if Jay Johnson will have a guy in there. However, outside of those sports, not sure what they're going to do from a money standpoint for resources. They will need to get creative there. Wouldn't surprise me if they get rid of a sport(s) in the coming years like other schools are starting to do.

That's true at a lot of schools, but, at LSU, baseball is as important as basketball.
There are also lots of schools where women's basketball matters. I'm not sure if it really does at LSU yet or not. It matters right now because we have Kim Mulkey as coach, but I don't know if it would matter otherwise.

WTH? Verge just started as AD. Let’s give him a chance to prove himself before we talk about sending him out to pasture.

You don’t have to convince me he’s a great AD. Pay attention to the clowns calling him a figure head and yes man, though.
They’re dumb.

This is the beginning of the end.
Watch the Heath/Verge handshake on instagram. Heath is taking the victory lap and waiting on Lee to fire verge. Welcome to McNeese East.

Their dynamic seems strange. Looked tense when he got off the plane. Anyone who’s run a team or an org wouldn’t want someone coming to to undermine them

My guess is that Schroyer was a condition for Wade to come back. Verge doesn't appear to be calling any shots and will remain in place as long as the rest of the administration is in place (Mallet, Rousse, Landry). Or maybe Verge's fate will be tied to Kiffin

I would assume that on the org chart Schroyer reports to Verge, but in reality I would bet that verge has little to no say over what Schroyer does with basketball.
