Man if you paid me $8M not to work, you could fire me and drag me all over the internet for as long as you wanted.

By all accounts, he's a good guy, and he has a family. As a fan, you can be happy he's gone, happy for him he's got a buyout, feel bad it didn't work out and feel bad for him and his family. All of those feelings are not mutually exclusive.

He is the nice bf realizing that his gf who is out of his league has been talking to her ex and they get back together without breaking up with him first.

It is...but it's better than never getting your shot. He got his time on the big stage and learned it's not for him. As glad as I am he's gone I hope it was a great experience for him and that the rest of his career is a better fit.

It always amazes me when somebody feels bad for somebody making that kind of money. There were actually some people who felt sorry for Brian Kelly.

I’m not saying that money solves all problems, but there are more than enough people in the world that you could put your attention to and feel bad for other than those two guys.

I don't feel sorry for him.

I just don't believe in being happy at someone else's misery when they actually tried.

Sure, we could. Doesn’t make it right, so I wouldn’t.

From all accounts, he didn’t do anything “wrong”. He put in the effort, was just not good enough. That’s ok, we move on and wish him well.

I consider MM the same as Brian Kelly. Both came here for big money to fix something and neither gave LSU their money's worth.

He was made aware before today. He wasn't publicly let go, but he was aware.

Not like Woodward who fired Wade over a cell phone call....

Wish I could get that much money for being terrible at my job.

People that feel sorry for a fired coach like MM are weird. Do they hold that same energy for your average Joe that unknowingly/unsuspectingly gets fired? I have my doubts that they do. Yet I'm supposed to feel sorry for this a-hole that killed the LSU basketball program while he's getting paid millions to not coach?

frick off with all that BS.

At least BK had a bit of success in his time here. MM's entire tenure was shite.

It's embarrassing to get fired. But $8 million makes it a little more bearable.

I'm just gonna go on the record that you can dog cuss me, say I'm a huge piece of shite, whatever you want.

You can put my face on billboards with that huge ghostbusters circle/slash over it, with the words "This guy is a piece of shite".

But give me $8 mil and I'll get over it real quick.

To even become a HC on this level, you need to be hyper competitive and understand how outcome based the role is.

He knows and surely understands why this happened.
