I know everyone’s pretty split on Landry, but I think we can all agree he’s better than JBE at the end of the day. With all the involvement in LSU athletics, most of which I assume he is buying votes, I wonder if he’s prepping to go up against JBE next election cycle.

Do yall think JBE runs again? How do you think he fairs against Landry?

Landry is not better than JBE. He is significantly worse.

Edwards will not run again so Landry has nothing to worry about there. I find it highly unlikely that a Democrat can win a statewide election in Louisiana. What we need now is a better republican.

Both have the same financial backers for campaign funding

That is absolutely correct. Landry was substantially bankrolled by the plaintiffs lawyers who previously supported JBE. Landry also made a big deal with Cleo Fields.

There has to be a competent republican who is willing to take the job.

He may not be able to. There’s a bill in session right now to amend the constitution making it a two terms for life max, not just two consecutive terms. It has a long way to go in the legislature and then by a vote of the State, but it’s in motion.

After being elected, Landry has shown his true colors and is an absolute POS. Frick him and his trial lawyer buddies. They are what is wrong with Louisiana and why it will never change.

I think it's hilarious when people label him racist.

He doesn't give a frick about race, he only cares about himself and his cronies

It was the citizens that voted against lowering taxes.

I also remember you guys melting down over the football coach being fired. But he was right again and this website was wrong.

I didn't vote for Landry, but the hatred he gets is unwarranted. And makes you all look like retards.ig nothing rise, he beats JBE on covid a lone.

JBE was an above average Democrat.

Landry is a below average Republican.

We need a great Governor to fix a lot of shite from decades of poor decisions.

Both fancy themselves the new Huey P Long. Well…maybe JBE fancied himself Edwin Edwards.

At a minimum, and I know this is a low bar, at least Landry isn’t beating the drum for higher income taxes, he hasn’t vetoed any bills preventing born males from competing in women’s sports, and he won’t shut down Louisiana business and force everyone to mask up over Covid-20.

But make no mistake, he wants to be Huey P Landry. Any slight criticism towards him, even from folks who had previously been his ally, is met with a sudden attack as if you’re a leftist Democrat. He sold out to Cleo Fields, promising him a Congressional seat tailor made for him, and he supports his trial lawyer buddies suing the shite out of our oil & gas industry while he still chants “drill baby drill”.

Landry>JBE…but damn…

No, he is not.

I do think JBE runs again. He SHOULD crush Landry, but the environment has changed. I think the letter next to your name in the booth matters now more than ever.

JBE was a unicorn. Landry is just your below average republican governor.

That's about right.

But here is the thing. Because of partisanship, the legislature held JBE in check after the first two years. He was a lame duck governor for about 6 years.

But Landry gets the legislature's backing.

I am not sure that is better.

So you’re happy John Bel Edwards was threatening to fine small businesses who wouldn’t themselves force their customers to wear masks?

This is false.

I will make sure to remind everyone that needs reminding. JBE stripped away first amendment rights.

Again, JBE stripped away our first amendment in the bill of rights that we used to agree was sacred.

And it's not up for debate. This is objective.

Landry is a bully and against transparency, especially transparency that involves himself or the State Police.
Yes I rather Landry than JBE but Landry is not the best we can do.
I will not vote for his re-election but I also will not vote for a Democrat.
