The best time of the year is upon us
Welcome back to all our veteran community leaders as well as all of our lurkers and any newcomers for the season
Who the hell knows what the next 6 months holds, but one thing is certain: this thread will be off the rails before we get to April
I look forward to another year of memes and nicknames and hopefully some new crownings

Dana Brown sucks...........
I think that's how we do this.

- Sleepy Joe and Dana Brown were retained; they both enter their final year of their contracts
- We did not hold any extension conversations with Hunter Brown or Jeremy Peña, per both players. FML
- E-sock remains an Astro, for now
- Chandler if you're reading this, you're still a bitch
Additions:
- SP Tatsuya Imai
- SP Mike Burrows
- OF/Strikeout Aficionado Joey Loperfido

- SP Framber Valdez
- IF/OF Mauricio Dubon
- C Victor Caratini
- OF Chas McCormick
- SP Luis Garcia
- 2B Brendan Rodgers

The most beautiful day of the year.
Should be a national holiday.
Hell, it should be a global holiday.
Cheers, Lady and gents.
85 wins.

How many of y'all live close enough to go to a game? I am looking forward to pre-gaming at Little Woodrows then taking one of those bike taxis to the game.

Damn, you fellers are rolling early today. Of course, you can’t rage hate the team’s anemic hitting all day if you don’t start early in the morning. I’m in!

Last year we set the record for most players to do IL stints (I believe that is correct) in one season and still only missed the post season by one game. I’m mildly confident we’ll be alright this year. Lost Framber but added Burrows and Imai and hopefully some other guys are healed up and maybe we see Blubaugh start to shine more. Ready for opening pitch!

We're finally back! Ready for that first bull of the season

Here's to 6 months of hate watching, occasional unrealistic optimism, frequent discomfort, not being able to tell the score of the game strictly based on posts in here, and FODBing at every opportunity

It is good to be back.

Nice write up. I’m not optimistic about this season. I think we have a lot of players that are injury prone.
I love our infield but the outfield is terrible. Hope I’m wrong though.

Tis a great day indeed! Let's get that Diesel rolling!
We start the season once again with new hopes and dreams of the DAT just waiting to be crushed!
Great day for sports in Houston!
Opening Day!
1st day of the Houston Open!
Sweet 16 here at Toyota Center!
Gotta throw in a Go Coogs! I'd like to see Sampson win it all. Shoulda been last year.

Hello Friends,
It is always with most profound pleasure that I enter the DAT on Opening Day to share experiences with all of you. While I fully intend to make wise cracks as well as post humorous GIFs and images throughout the season, I also intend to merely enjoy the time we spend together hoping for the best for our favorite MLB team.
These precious escapes from the drudgery and stresses of life are so important. Savor them.
With deepest regards,
Jwho
PS - Fire Joe Espada into the sun with haste.
