Is LSU really negotiating to hire WW without firing MM?

The fact that you think it seems weird seems weird to me.

It is weird to be talking to another coach while u have a coach already. At least be discreet about the talks. That’s like u at work and you know they are interviewing for your position. How u think u would feel? If I was McMahon, if Wade doesn’t come, I’ll quit.

There is no negotiation. He's not "entertaining" offers from each side and deciding.

He's too loyal to Rousse and Schruyer to do that. If LSU has given him a deal he wants, then its over. I really don't think he's interested in shopping the deal from LSU to NC State to get a better deal.

That is being put out by NC State to save face.

ETA. McMahon has been told he's out.

It’s really not that weird, McMahon is one of the most losing coaches in lsu history, the writing has been on the wall all year and if you couldn’t just watch the team the admin has been saying this in press conferences all year. McMahon knows what the situation is. What’s he going to do ? Quit? Give up his buyout/salary? This is not weird at all lmfao

Please god, let that happen if WW is not hired. I believe LSU would be ecstatic and all Tiger Nation!!!! LSU doesn’t pay his buyout and gets a new coach. For the love of God!!!!

It’s bad form. If you don’t have the balls to fire him then you shouldn’t be pursuing other coaches.

College of Charleston job just opened with Chris Mack going to USF. That's actually a good landing spot for McMahon that would get us off the buyout hook.

ETA: Troy's coach just left for Ga tech. Another smaller southern school that could look at his Murray tenure and sell that.

No you wouldn't.

Too much money to lose if he did that.

This isn't your traditional Rouses job where you can go down the street to Kroger's and make the same money.

This is big boy stuff with big money which makes it non traditional and why it may seem weird to you.

How would anyone be able to tell?

I think someone is pulling a Weekend at Bernie’s to collect his paycheck.

Good grief, MM buyout is $8 million if he's fired. Then add God knows how big a package to bring in a new coach.

Paid over three years and subject to an offset. Matt will get a job somewhere (even if its as an assistant) and when he does, there will be a negotiation to reduce the buyout and pay it in a lump sum.

Wade will generate enough to almost completely offset this amount.
