Anyone been yet? This is quite a haul for me to get to especially for mexican food but I guess it's more geared for the UClub baws?

Well just about every location in BR closer to me in Uclub than this place.

$35 at Superior
We went Monday night and the place was full. It was good enough. Nothing earth shattering but it will do fine where it is located. A lot of roof tops out there.
There is a Cajun meats, boudin, etc… kind of like Bergeron’s in Port Allen going in on the other end cap of that building. Don’t think they have started the buildout yet.

What? It’s the closest restaurant to UClub that isn’t the clubhouse. It’s 1000 feet from the main entrance to the neighborhood. So even if you live back on Pete Maravich it’s still close.

Really?
Haven`t been to Superior in awhile. I know food prices have gone up and i understand businesses need to adjust, but beans and rice are still cheap as hell. It`s crazy to me because prices increased during Covid and after they never dropped.

That does look pricey, but when you have zero competition, you can get away with high prices. With Istrouma closed, the only two places to eat out in that area are Roberto's and the new Mexican place.

Superior is one of the few places in town that can charge basically whatever they want and still have a line out the door on a regular basis. They have no incentive to charge less because they're not seeing a true decrease in business as a result of their pricing.
As a result, similar restaurants like Modesto, this new place, etc. can charge more than they would have to charge if pricing was competitive in town because it's still "cheaper than Superior" in everyone's minds.
Superior on a budget is basically sticking to lunch menu (til 4pm every day), appetizer as meal (quesadillas and chimichangas are both considered appetizers there), or a la carte ordering.
Honestly, this is why I a la carte when I want something that normally comes on a plate with rice and beans. Their a la carte items are like $4 or so (depending). Your premium price comes when it's the full plate with rice and beans, and I don't even eat those.

That should do well; especially if they offer some kind of grab and go breakfast. I'm surprised there hasn't been a donut shop opened in that strip considering the morning traffic that stretch of Hwy 30 sees from 6:00-9:00.

They can keep their fajitas.

We've eaten there, and it was very good. At least as good as Superior; maybe better.

My bad the address I saw said 14 miles on hwy 30 Gonzales.

I live out in that area and glad to see a restaurant go in there finally. Excited to here a cajun place will be going in soon. For years every time my wife and I drive by there we always comment that a restaurant would do well there given the proximity to Lexington, UClub, UClub South and Spanish Lakes. Prices sound a bit steep, but glad to get a dining option or two in that area.

The biggest thing is that St. Gabriel police are about to greatly increase their revenue with the number of DWIs that they will issue.

There's a donut shop right next door to Boudin Shack.

Yeah. But Lucky Morning Donuts is 5 miles away from this shopping center and doesn't catch any traffic coming from Bluebonnet.
