A live action movie that's still 95% CGI with some real actors mixed in. it's like reverse Who Framed Roger Rabbit. it's all so stupid and tiresome.

I hope my kids don't ask to go see this. It looks like the same exact movie as the animated one, but the animated one is way more visually pleasing. I am still wowed by it every time we watch it.

eta: I'm in for this one for the music alone. Moana is top 3-5 in the Disney music category for me.

The problem is it worked great for that Jungle Book movie in 2016. They have been chasing that high ever since.

Honestly, I don't know what would have to happen for me to want to watch the same exact movie but with real people. It sure as hell isn't a movie where the same lines are uttered and the CGI looks just like it did in the animated movie.
I'm not surprised by any of it. My point was there is no reason to see it.

I agree, but you can go watch Moana on Disney+ right now and get the same songs.

The Disney trend of creating live action remakes of movies that recently came out is so stupid. This simply isn’t needed.

Seriously, it's like when they called it the "live action" Lion King when 100% of the movie was CGI.
It was every single bit as animated as the original.

My daughter will for sure will be wanting to see this one. “Moana” is the greatest Disney princess movie since Tangled. The songs are awesome
My guess is this one got the remake treatment because Dwayne Johnson is close to being aged out of playing a live action role like that. Get in while he can do it I guess.
