It’s time to get our B2 bombers out of Diego Garcia.

If Iran were to hit even one of the 6 B2s we have forward deployed there it would be a massive victory to Iran and they have shown they have that reach. I doubt they have more than a handful of missiles left with thar range but those 6 aircraft consist of almost 1/3 if the total fleet of 19 left. Our B-1 and B-52 can handle most of the heavy bombing and if they are needed our B-2 pilots are used to flying sorties from Whiteman AFB in Missouri to wherever they are needed. Iran will be acting more and more desperate as they lose more and more of their strike ability.

Probably a prudent move at this juncture.

What’s the transit time for a missile getting to that base vs how long it takes for us to scramble?
As long as we have lead time and the bombers are gassed we should be fine.

Was just a noisy strike.

It’s not that easy getting the heavies in the air compared to a fighter but they can still be quick scrambled. I just wouldn’t give them even the chance at a target like that if I really didn’t need to. Better to be safe than sorry in this instance. The B-2 can always strike if it needs to from wherever it is stationed.

About 10-15 minutes from launch to impact. Ballistic missiles are fast.

It is almost 800 miles past the claimed 4,000 km that yesterday's ermagert! post claimed.
It is 3,270 miles from Tehran to D.G. 4,000 km is 2,485 miles.

Only way they need to get out is to be en route to Iran for delivery. Evacuation is a joke I suppose as do so would absolutely be a media vehicle for them to use

Doesn't have to be from Tehran

Yesterday's post used Tehran as the standard from which all things fly. It said the missiles aimed at DG came from Tehran.

Say they hit all 6 b2’s there. The B21 is coming into service next year. I’m not saying the b2 fleet is expendable, but let’s not act like it’s nearly 40 year old “front line” tech.
Besides, the navy keeps destroyers around for just that sort of thing. Aegis is a very, very power system.

We've killed their leaders and destroyed most of their navy and air control. Sure, blowing up one plane would be a victory.

They didn't get anywhere near Diego Garcia and it's pretty likely they didn't even have warheads on them to cut weight so they could look like they have this kind of range.

Distance and accuracy are two different things. Can they hit a target more than a few miles away?

I assume we now know where they launched those missiles and it's likely already obliterated.
I would also assume they have more hidden in the desert hiding in wait.

Reports were that we did not shoot it down.

Why waste an interceptor on a missile tracking to take out some Indian ocean Tuna fish.

I was told by Tucker, MTG, Joe Rogan, Dave Smith, Stephen A Smith that they did not have long range missiles and that Bibi and Trump were lying to the world about it
