Meteor broke apart over Houston - update pg3: meteors diff places + fireballs over Austin

NASA confirmed a 1-ton meteor, 3 feet wide, traveling at 35,000 mph broke apart 29 miles above Houston today.
The fragmentation caused the booms felt across the city.
If it hit the ground intact?
That's roughly 25 tons of TNT hitting the ground.
Picture a bomb leveling an entire city block.
Houston got lucky today.

In the last 3 months there have been at least 3 other notable large fireball/bolide events like this one: bright fireball over Louisiana Mar 2, meteorites punching through roofs in Germany Mar 8, and a 7-ton daytime bolide over Ohio Mar 17 with sonic booms felt across states (radar suggests possible fragments). Houston makes 4. Confirmed roof-piercing impacts are still very rare overall, though reports do seem clustered lately.

Eyewitnesses in Texas observed a bright fireball today, March 21, at 4:40 p.m. CDT. Current data indicates that the meteor became visible at 49 miles above Stagecoach, northwest of Houston. It moved southeast at 35,000 mph, breaking apart 29 miles above Bammel, just west of Cypress Station. The fragmentation of the meteor - which weighed about a ton with a diameter of 3 feet - created a pressure wave that caused booms heard by some in the area. Doppler weather radar also showed meteorites produced between Willowbrook and Northgate Crossing.

I am no explosives expert but I am thinking 50,000 pounds of tnt will levelway more than one city block.
