Iran launched two intermediate-range ballistic missiles aimed at a joint US-UK military base 2,500 miles away in the Indian Ocean, but failed to hit its target, according to a new report.
One of the missiles that was directed at the Diego Garcia base failed while in the air as a US warship fired an SM-3 Interceptor at the second missile
The 2500 mi intermediate range missiles puts all of Europe within the terrorists reach.
Muh no imminent threat.

These missiles to Diego Garcia means Iran has 4,000km [2,490 miles] plus ballistic missiles – and that hasn’t been revealed before. All reports before that said Iran had a 2,000km range [1,240 miles] and not beyond that,” Seloom told Al Jazeera.
“If you reverse the direction of these missiles, then they could reach London. So that changes the calculus not only for the US and its justification for the war, but also for a reluctant London and European Union to join the war.”
Seloom said Iran may also have intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) that could even reach the US “because they tested that with their space programme”.

Should have let it hit since the UK was there and they are NATO. Use that to drag them in the war. Modern day Pearl Harbor.

Yeah, they wouldn't have hit our bombers or personnel.

We're being told that their military is defeated. How is it that they're able to keep firing off these missiles?

Do you think that we knew about the launch site and didn't hit it but instead intentionally lied about Iran's capabilities?

Buncha tryhard arse tryhards.

Yeah totally. And sacrifice the base and any assets there at the same time.

I don't think we intentionally lied. I think we've judged them prematurely.
Obviously their capabilities are limited, but they are still a danger.

Literally admitting they had IRBMs was a choice

Harvard and MIT changed all that.

Not exactly... Firing a long-range missile in an easterly direction is MUCH easier than firing it a long distance in a westerly direction due to the earth's rotation. Still, the fact that they have (had?) the capability to launch on Diego Garcia and have some reasonable expectation of hitting the target is a bit disconcerting.

The conspiracy theorist side of me wonders if the U.S. fired these missiles to convince Europe they need to help us

Defeated doesn’t mean completely out of all capabilities. A dead snake can still bite until you completely crush its head.

So it is more accurate going east because its traveling with the Earth's rotation or it travels further going west because the earth is rotating opposite of its trajectory?

I’m being told that the IRGC “will rain down hell and defeat the US”, yet 3 weeks in, nothing major has happened.
I guess I’ll wait until tomorrow like all the IRGC Officials tell me to.
