LSU as a team is hitting a paltry .259 in SEC play through 5 games. They are 42/162 at the plate. The Tigers have struck out 53 times (including 13 tonight) while drawing 34 base on balls.

Individually………..AVG…..K/BB
Brown—————-.400——6/8
Serna—————-.357——-2/2
Stanfield————.352——6/3
Curiel—————.352——5/3
Pearson————.333——3/3
Milam—————.285——5/1
Arambide———-.263——6/3
Dardar—————.200—-4/0
Yorke—————-.125——8/4
Caraway————.125——3/2

TEAM HIGHS
Hits (6) -Milam, Brown, Curiel & Stanfield
Ks (8) - Yorke ; (6)- Brown, Arambide, Stanf
BBs (8) -Brown ; (4) - Yorke

Our top 4 hitters are only averaging 1.2 hits per game. Arambide & Serna have 5 hits apiece thru 5 games. No one else has more than 3 hits in conference play. Our coaches have some work to do with this team if we want to make postseason.

We will be lucky to finish in the top half of the SEC with those numbers.

Heck the top 10 for that matter.

And we've averaged 8 runs per game.

Yorke is a swing and a miss as far as what we have had covering first.

We had physical specimens doing the splits to snare balls and with fantastic all around defense there the last 4 years.

Not sure I understand what Jay was thinking there in the offseason.

So Yorke has the lowest BA of all starters, also the most strikeouts amongst starters, is a liability in the field and we have bitches white knighting for him all over the board?

Zack has certainly struggled at the plate so far but I think his defense has been pretty damn good. Maybe not elite, as he’s had a few problems throwing home & throwing to third base, but he has made quite a few digs to save errors from Milam, Caraway, Dardar etc. You can’t be that disappointed with his defense.

3 of those games were also against the worst pitching staff in the conference up to this point.

Dardar, Caraway, and Yorke need serious evaluations on starting in the SEC.

And please do not pinch hit Reaves!

Yorke needs to take lessons from Paige Spiranic in how to swing with huge tits. Seems he can’t get around those bad boys fast enough. But he does keep morale up with his hot dog eating competition between innings…soo I say let it ride

You are misinformed. Haven’t seen anyone white knighting for him. Just telling all the idiots he isn’t the only problem. Currently 1st, 3rd, 2nd and catcher positions are all major problems. So people get tired of the constant Yorke threads when half the team is also sucking. This also doesn’t account for our leadoff hitter hitting a whopping .241 on the year lol

He also had only 8 errors in over 200 games played for Grand Canyon.

Let’s stop acting like he wasn’t a top rated transfer.

He’s #2 on the team with OBP….. he’s been on base more times than 7 other starters….

He puts a “duck on the pond” more than the rest of the lineup….. not sure why the Rant is singling him out?

I'd like to see Braun get a fair shot at 1st. And maybe even Ruckert or Clauss at 2nd. Pearson needs to stay in the lineup, whether at 3rd or DH.

Yall act like a guy ranked in the top 50 best transfer is going to be great and really produce because he was a top 30 or 40 guy. There may not be but 10 or 15 really good transfers that produce at a really high level in the whole portal. Caraway was ranked way higher than Yorke btw. Yorke wasn't even 1st or 2nd team WAC. Im not sure were the crazy expectations come from for either of them honestly.

Unless youre comparing these numbers to the rest of the teams in the league it doesnt really say anything.

I think Serna is locked in at DH (when not catching) for the foreseeable future. Potential is massive and he’s really looking very comfortable at the plate.

Imagine what he could do if he focused on losing 20-30 Lbs of bad weight.

This portal class outside a couple of arms have not been good. Judging by their swings, I don’t expect any more out of them with the exception of Yorke. Dardar is an uphill, boom-or-bust swing, not very consistent. Caraway has a long swing, susceptible to any velocity or above average off speed. Yorke has the best swing and for the most part, a pretty good eye for the zone but he’s definitely had his early struggles. He’d be the only one I think could turn this around. Another disappointment has been Simpson but I don’t think he’s really had his fair share of AB’s to really tell. Interested to see if he’ll get more opportunities down the road.

Yorke is a fricking dumpster fire. Dude needs to go back to the Mountain West Conference. He’s completely outclassed by SEC pitching.
