Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, LA, has confirmed to ABC News that during the week of 9-15 March, several waves of multiple drones were spotted over the base that hosts the nuclear-capable B-52H "Stratofortress." The statement goes on to say, "Security Forces observed multiple waves of 12-15 drones operating over sensitive areas of the installation, including the flight line, with aircraft displaying non-commercial signal characteristics, long-range control links, and resistance to jamming."

But they just went away, we didn't shoot any of them down, and we don't know anything about them or the owners.
Pretty scary stuff.
Pretty scary stuff.

Dystopian modern war is so cool. I LOVE world war 3!

Forgive me for asking a stupid question, but where did they come from and why can’t we follow them back there?

Not sure but I don't think the rednecks on the backside of the base are capable

I am sure much smarter and tech savvy types have already said this but why don't we already have fleets of drones that can quickly launch, track and either engage or at least follow the damn things? It seems like that would be relatively easy given today's tech.

Off the top of my head I'd say that it would be expensive to train the folks to use that type of tech.

Probably from our own military and probably because they were told not to.
Unidentified can also mean "we won't tell you" and not just "we don't know".
I could be completely wrong but I read this whole things as "Military is testing stuff and didn't tell low level employees."

Probably because they belonged to our military.

Not unless they say for a fact that it wasn't from our own military.

Not sure how trackable from the ground they may be based on speed.
There are “reports” of this happening all over, without any actual attacks happening though it does make you question the credibility.
Bases CONUS aren’t defended against this sort of thing tho and the reality is that’s a huge vulnerability as we assume we have bad actors here willing to do damage.

Unless you believe that we were being invaded by UFOs that the government just ignored the east coast drone swarm situation a couple years back tells me we have drones we haven’t shown the public yet.
Doesn’t mean we have full and effective drone defense at domestic bases yet.

The following day, the White House registered the domain "aliens.gov". Maybe illegal aliens must register there for the grand prize. But drones that we can not "scramble" certainly seem alien as well.

We spent all our money on Somali fraud.

An enemy flooding the zone with hundreds of small drones would be very hard to stop.

e didn't shoot any of them down
Considering the population of the area I'm not sure shooting them down was in the best interest. Now following them to an unpopulated area and then blasting away should have been an option.

Or, if you shoot them down you lose the uplink info and can’t track where they are being controlled from.
