Last week I was having lunch with two other moms at a restaurant when the owner approached a member of the State Police Executive Protection Detail and said my presence made their employees feel threatened and told us to leave," Sanders said in a statement Thursday about her recent dining experience at The Croissanterie restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders has bad luck with restaurants.

Arkansas Governor kicked out of restaurant
ETA: when I saw this story yesterday, there was emphasis on encroachment of the restaurant's 90min seating policy, to keep tables open. The restaurant owner's updated "clarification" is asinine.
Talk about turning a chicken-salad opportunity into rotting chicken sh*t.
Good Lord!

Meaning it is possible things in this instance did not go down exactly as represented.
You can read what the Governor said and the restaurant owner said. They both match up
quote:
The Croissanterie released a lengthy statement about the incident to local media, saying when they first learned she had arrived at the establishment they were "surprised and uncertain how best to respond."
"By the time we entered the dining room, she was already seated and eating. At that point, we chose not to interrupt, expecting that the party would complete their meal and depart without issue," the statement said.
The restaurant says that as time went on, the governor’s security detail became "more widely noticed, by both employees and guests, questions were raised about them remaining in the restaurant."
quote:
Sanders and her party complied with the request and exited the restaurant. As they were leaving, an individual standing with the restaurant staff shouted for them to go and made a crude hand gesture in the governor’s direction

The way it's represented certainly doesn't make a lot of sense.
It's hard to imagine a small retail type business in any Southern American capital city (or even anywhere really) pulling something like that for any even moderately popular elected Governor (meaning anyone not in some sort of scandalous type tailspin) of their particular state.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the employees eventually get let go and the restaurant closes because they have lost their customers. Let’s see how his employees react to being let go because they felt uneasy about a customer

They are getting roasted on Yelp.

I was at The Croissanterie the same morning Sarah Huckabee Sanders visited, and my experience left me confused about how policies are enforced.
I was part of a group of 10 moms seated at a table meant for 6 from 8:30 to 10:10 AM. During that entire time, we were never once approached about a "90-minute seating rule," nor were we asked to wrap up or leave. The staff was friendly, and there were no concerns raised about our group size or how long we stayed.
Given that, I don't understand how the situation with Governor Sanders was handled so differently
-especially if the reasoning involved guests feeling uncomfortable or enforcing time limits. That standard was clearly not applied consistently.
Unfortunately, I will not be back. I prefer to support local businesses that welcome and support everyone, regardless of race, gender, or political views.

Again? Wasn’t she driven out of a restaurant when serving as Trumps press secretary during his first administration? That restaurant went out of business shortly after.

The owners are fat lesbians so unfortunately in this case it makes sense.

what the ... restaurant owner said
quote:Yep. You're right. Screw the owner!
Allowing her to stay risked being perceived as a lack of support for the community that makes up the majority of our team, as well as their families and friends. Conversely, asking her to leave could be viewed as denying service based on differing beliefs."
JHC, WTF are these people thinking?
If I owned a business, and a Governor singled it out, I'd get pics, autographs, reviews, and have it all on the wall the next day. I wouldn't care about party. I'd care about celebrity.

Yeah, young leftists don't typically behave like this. Very out of character. Best to wait for the whole story.

If I’m SHS I send the code enforcement people there the next day and rip that place a new butthole. Slap an F rating on the door and tell them to get in compliance or else.

I suspect that if you want one of their croissants, you might want to hurry. They won't be there long.
