Always an interesting chart to see every spring. Top 10 North American franchise values:

1. Cowboys - 12.8bn
2. Warriors - 11.33bn
3. Rams - 10.43bn
4. NY Giants - 10.25bn
5. Lakers - 10bn
6. Knicks - 9.85bn
7. Yankees - 9.4bn
8. Dodgers - 9.05bn
9. Patriots - 8.76bn
10. Niners - 8.6bn

Full list LINK

Thoughts? Always surprising to see how much MLB and the NBA have gained when it wasn't too long ago you had organizations like the Grizzlies and Rays barely worth 300mm

IF the Lakers are worth $10 billion, what are the Celtics worth?

I don’t think I would pay more for the Warriors than I would for the Yankees or Dodgers.

It’s hard to believe the spread between the Cowboys and Warriors is that thin. Honestly, I don’t believe it.

Hard for to believe the warriors are worth more than the Lakers.. seems suspect just based off that.

You say “IF.” Didn’t the franchise recently sell for that amount?

Ok

“Since” the Lakers sold for 10 billion, I think the Celtics are worth that as well.

The Warriors have 4 rings in the last 11 years, own their new arena. which sells out for many non NBA events. 130 luxury suites in there. They print money. with all the tech money over there paying top dollar. They make $5 million per home game.

I’m not in the market to buy a franchise(financial limits), but IF I was a Saudi prince, buying the Yankees would be on the list.

The Celtics are historically a great franchise. I’m surprised they are not valued near the Lakers.

Remove real estate and what does the list look like? Looks like only the Cowboys break the mold, the rest of the list is located in the most expensive real estate on the continent.

Real estate prices in San Francisco are higher than the area where the Lakers (crypto.com arena) is located AND its a brand new stadium.

The list is pretty much organized by stadium/arena/land worth.

At work and can't access the link. Do they give a foundation for the valuations? Is some of it real estate based. The top ones all seem to be in pricey real estate markets.

Just interested to see the reasoning behind why a team like the Patriots would be valued billions over a franchise like the Steelers.

Somebody overpaid recently.

“In August 2025, the NBA's board of governors approved the sale of the Celtics to a group led by Bill Chisholm, which acquired 51% of the team in the first tranche of the deal at a valuation of $6.1 billion. The remaining 49% is expected to be transferred in 2028 at a valuation of more than $7 billion.”

Market rate looks like $13.1 billion.

Too rich for my blood.

I’m guessing it’s some revenue multiple based on recent transactions

It's crazy how he nearly singlehandedly changed the way the game is played and turned a franchise that was largely forgettable at the time into what they are now.

We were all in awe at how he took dragged tiny Davidson to the elite 8 and took eventual champion Kansas to the final possession. I never envisioned him having as big an impact on the NBA as he would go on to do though.
