I'd be fine with Mansoor at 8. No excited maybe, but fine.

Yea i wouldn’t hate it depending on how the first several picks play out. We really do need to strengthen that position.

CB/DB is a pretty big need. I'd put it 3rd on the team, but I could see an argument for 2nd on the team.

Delane is really good.

I would take him if a good DE isn't available. Or Downs.

How I feel.

Definitely Delane over Bain.

If Love fell to us I'm becoming much more warm to drafting him and playing him at WR a ton

In a perfect world I’d like to trade back a couple of spots and see how far guys like him, Lemon, Downs, and other Front 7 players might fall

Delane is a good player and he will be a really good CB. But idk if that exactly fixes our issues in the secondary. Neither KoolAid nor Riley have a ton of experience in the slot. I could see them going after Scott or Kilgore in the third round for a slot guy if we took Delane. And just let the best two emerge from Delane, Riley and KoolAid on the outside

But there are much worse selections at 8. I think Bain might fall a lot more than what people think IF the Commanders don’t take him.

Seems like the consensus is

1. Mendoza
2. Reese
3: Bailey
4. Love
5. Styles
6. Tate/Freeling
7. Downs/Tate/Bain

Not a ton of elite OTs is going to hurt us as far as not pushing someone down to us. I think it’s going to be Delane or Downs at 8.

I still see Mauigoa projected to the Cardinals in a lot of reputable mocks. They have an LT but are desperate for a RT, he could slide right in.

A lot of the receivers people are drooling over Delane shut down. Dude controlled one side of the field. All year under 100 yards allowed no TD allowed. And our offense sucked last year so he was on the field a lot. This dude is way better than I expected.
Obviously want a big boy here but dude is special.

I think most everyone would be fine with Delane. But I think there will just be better options most likely

Koolaid actually improved A LOT the second half of the season from what I saw.

Kool Aid was the 25th rated CB per PFF out of 114. Over 1000 snaps and is the third youngest player on our roster.

Which is why I’d be shocked they took Delane and moved KoolAid inside. Kellen Moore mentioned Riley could move inside but I just don’t think he has the size or athleticism for that.

I think they add a cheap FA CB to backup KoolAid and Riley and target a guy like Ponds, Kilgore or Scott to play the nickel/Star if they don’t take Downs at 8. I’ve seen more and more mocks by reputable guys like Daniel Jeremiah and Josh Norris, who were fairly accurate, mocking David Bailey to the Saints. I think the Saints being slow on adding Cam or anyone to Edge is that they think Bain or Bailey will be there

I agree. People seem to forget about what Lattimore did for our defense when he was in his prime. Shutting down the opposing team’s top receiver or shutting down 1/2 the field helps your defense big time

if you think he's a lockdown corner, you do. it depends if the Saints see him as such. if they do I'm good with it
