Simply don't pay them and they will remove them. This is not rocket science.

Doc and title/reg fees are fine. They can kick rocks with the rest
ETA: And just saw the vehicle in question, which was undoubtedly the actual point of this post. Well done and subtle

He was about 2-3K high on price already.
I told him, " Thanks and good luck".
M5 Competitions w/ sunroof and not the carbon roof are a bit hard to find, but not impossible.
He's probably got 82-83 in it and looking to make 10 on the deal.
He can hang on to it.
BMW's age like milk.

Not doing a subtle brag, honestly.
I was pretty impressed to see that much of a fee structure on a used car.

Friend of mine owns probably the largest auot mod place here in town and he said it's absolute garbage and an utter waste of money.

I'd ask what exactly their ceramic coating is.
Is it a true ceramic coating that was placed after the vehicle was prepped and polished?
Or did they just spray some Turtle Wax Hybrid onto the car after a quick wash?

Id walk just because if the 8 bullshite
In car pricing, ending a price with 8 is a common practice rooted in psychological pricing and cultural influences:
Psychological pricing ("charm pricing")
Prices ending in 8 (like $28,998 or $35,888) feel lower than a round number. The brain processes $28,998 as closer to $28,000 than $29,000, even though it's nearly $29,000.
Chinese cultural influence
The number 8 is considered extremely lucky in Chinese culture because it sounds like the word for "prosperity" or "wealth" (?, fa). Dealerships — particularly luxury brands like BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus — often use 8-endings to appeal to Chinese-American buyers or in markets like China, where an 8-heavy price can be seen as auspicious.
Industry-wide convention
It became a standard convention in auto pricing, so even dealerships without a specific cultural motivation use it simply because competitors do — and because it works to make prices feel more calculated and less arbitrary than a round number.
Differentiation from retail
Unlike most retail goods that end in 9 (the classic $9.99 trick), car prices tend to use 8 — giving the same psychological "just under" effect while feeling distinct from everyday consumer pricing.
So in short: it makes the price feel lower, may signal good fortune to some buyers, and has become an ingrained industry habit.

Everything is negotiable. Walk. They always call.

I've got a car inbound that with Carmax that I'm going to likely buy and the listings all have this on the price: "Price excludes tax, title, tags, and $199 CarMax processing fee (not required by law)."
I'm curious about the "not required by law" part. I'm assuming this is just a random fee that they apply and can legally charge it but it's a Carmax not a state-driven fee?

A well-known Chevy-Buick dealer in BR used to have an "advertising fee" tacked on as part of the invoice. What a crock.

Dealerships just use a spray on ceramic during a normal hand wash.

Indeed it is.
I love to watch the car salesman's face when I repeatedly say "I'm not paying for that".
Shake their hand, thank them, then walk out. They need the sale more than you need the car.

Every vehicle I've purchased in the past 15 years I've asked the dealership to not have their people wash it.
They do a terrible job. And they like to spray that cheap greasy dressing all over everything.
The last truck I bought, the dealer ignored me, and their people sprayed that grease dressing everywhere, even on the floor mats and pedals. So every time I had to stop on the way home my foot kept on slipping off the brake pedal.

Bought the wife a vehicle a couple months ago. Did $8,000 better than their initial “deal” in under 5 minutes.
I don’t blame a business for trying to make more money…I blame the customers who don’t know any better and fall for it.
