The price of oil will fall by a lot in overnight trading.

Gas prices around me have stayed the same in the 3.50 range.

Not sure there's any news over the weekend that will change it much when the markets here open tomorrow.

Though the panic...

It now looks like stock futures are going down when oil goes up and up when oil down.

Iran is likely ramping up for another attack on the straits.

Whatever happened to the concept of the price of something being determined by actual supply and demand rather than the “feels” of some dork sitting at a computer?

The dork at the computer realized how much power they have sitting behind a computer when the people on the other end of that computer are morons.

Whatever happened to folks that voted for Biden in 2020? Wait, you were one of them.

Isn’t it a good thing most people don’t have to put a full tank of gas in their car every day?

The most important feature of the stock market is to panic retail investors.

The Slingshot Brigade is on their way. Ok.

Oh, they probably have some missiles and drones left, but they will not threaten the straits for more than a few hours at most.

Incorrect. Their mostly likely drones will remain a consistent threat for the foreseeable future. We can’t find them all before they’re shot and they can produce those things in a garage and shoot them from virtually anywhere. Which is why taking the islands in the strait and setting up a picket line of destroyers in the strait will most likely be required to keep the strait open. We need to do this in order to set up a layered air defense against the drones and missiles and also to absorb some of the hits. The Iranians will no doubt expend plenty of them trying to kill to the Marines on the islands and the navy ships in the strait. These are drones that won’t be used to sink shipping. We’ll take casualties doing it but it has to be done.

Is there anything we, the United States, need out of the Persian Gulf?

Trump‘s genius is that we built energy independence across is two terms.

If Iran wants to punk itself, shutting down the Straight of Hormuz, let them cook.

Oil is still a globally traded commodity. West Texas Intermediate crude is about $97. A month ago, it was around $63.

There's no WTI crude coming out of the Middle East, but yet the stuff we produce in huge abundance here at home is about $35/bbl up from a month ago.

Also, a significant portion of other commodities transported by sea pass through that strait, such as fertilizer.

Did our cost to produce here go up $35 per barrel?
