I just want to know how it got to be that we're still stuck with George Bush.

The neocons are the assholes wrecking everything. There’s no “far right.” The issues you care about are characterized as “far right” by neocons so that they may continue to warmonger, and they can ostracize people with opposing political views to the War Machine, Big Banks, and Big Business.
These entities are equally as morally bankrupt as leftists, bc they are also leftists. Collectivism is the absolute devil. Neocon leftists are freaking globalists who want to live in the Tower of Babel. They are collectivists who regard the individual as having no value. The individual is inefficient. These institutions cannot be having anything slow them down, especially not some pesky individuals with needs and wants and hopes and dreams.
To neocons, "individuals" are only useful as economic units for the good of the mythical "all."
Neocons will crush an individual and wreck him just as easily and as quickly as any communist.
I may just be a poor ole country lawyer, lady of a certain age, shouting into the wind on a message board. But I will continue to rage against it as long as there is breath in my body. My God and my country demand it of me.

trump is nothing like bush, we're not getting in a ground war with iran.

I told these people over and over Trump was not different and they wouldn't listen. Now they act shocked that I was right (again) and pretend there was no way to know.

Iran has been needing to be sorted out for a long time now. It's really pretty simple, you don't get to attack Americans and American interest for 50 years unchecked. You can't allow a nation that sponsors terrorism around the world to develop nuclear weapons. And when a country slaughters 35,000 of its own citizens for protesting someone needs to step in and do something about it.

Well if we do - then you can bet your arse that it's a bunch of neocons who decided it was a fantastic idea.
I legit don't understand the necessity of this war, any more than I understood the necessity of the war in Iraq.

Having proper voting and standing against children having their genitalia mutilated, is not “far right”. It’s not even left or right. For the usual senators to stand in the way means it’s about something far more sinister.
How do we get out of this hole? Some contracts need to be made with Michael Corleone

Empire management is a tricky thing. I'm not privy to every reason we got to war, but ultimately it's about ensuring economic stability. We must dominate the world or the whole house of cards comes crumbling down. This is why we invest so heavily in our military. It's not for home defense. It's for backing up our pressure tactics. We destabilize countries and profit from the loans and resource extraction.

I actually thought he was different, but I just didn't take into account that he made a deal with certain powerful people to win again and insulate him from attack. Scott Horton got into some of that here. I liked Scott's attitude about everything. He said he never voted for Trump, but always supported him. Scott said the country needed a a new direction in response to Dem insanity, but he knew the neocon lobby was going to get to Trump. ETA, I queued it up to that part.

This Iran War is much more likely to lead to negative economic consequences

Being non-interventionist is a traditionally conservative position. Mr. Republican Senator Robert Taft was adamantly opposed to even joining NATO. The first neocons were in the Democratic Party (Senator Scoop Jackson, Irving Kristol), and then they infiltrated the Republican Party in the late 1980s.

I lived on the east coast of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for 8 years. I had a lot of really great Arab friends. BUT. The religious bad guys in Iran are really, really bad. They only think in terms of death to any one contrary to their opinion. If they had walked away from the nuclear bomb last summer, this action would not have happened. But the Iranians doubled down on the manufacture and would have used it, unlike any country with a nuc in the last 80 years. Its reality

Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul were right.

Short-term all war is somewhat costly. Blood and treasure. Though, I suspect the accountants have done the math and determined that for US hegemony this war is justified. Iran is a critical piece of BRICS. Taking them out of the equation swings the power dynamic in our favor.
Trump didn't do this because of simple ego-stroking. This was done because it favored us to do so.

Cheney and Bush told us that once Saddam was gone that the the Iraqi people would be celebrating in the streets and democracy would take hold. It didn’t happen just like they told us Saddam had uranium to make a bomb.
Our government is corrupt regardless of the party in power.
And-if you trust the US government, just talk to the American Indians!!!
Where is the transparency that we accidentally bombed school with children.
Trump raged against the Bush wars when he first ran. I suspect the military machine goaded his ego to bomb Iran.
The majority of Americans don’t even know that Iranians don’t speak Arabic.
