There have been several new ones and old ones moving around and I can’t keep track anymore. My frame of reference for comparison is Central Texas barbecue

If you’re trying to compare it to some heavy hitters in Texas it’s not much of a competition but it’s decent.

Offset smoker (govt st) - very good brisket and turkey. Sides aren’t anything to write home about. Outdoor only seating.

Sonny’s BBQ is still the best BBQ in the city.

Yes, it does. I bought a 4+ pound slice yesterday to go with my dad's birthday lunch.

There is no "scene," which is why I drive to Gonzo's in Luling for my bbq fix.

Offset has great ribs, brisket and sausage.
Salt pepper oak is really good to.
Both are legit for BR.

It's not sad nor is it even true.

Salt Pepper Oak is my favorite with Offset Smoker and Smoke Bayou behind them. All three are fine enough options to scratch your BBQ itch without going to Sonny's.

That sonny's would even be mentioned in terms of being the best is the point.
BR bbq scene is horrid. its a really LOW bar to become the best here. That is a FACT
