Another Big East regular season and Tournament Championship. First time in program history that St. John's has won back-to-back Big East Tournament Titles.

I think you can make an argument for top five, but best is probably a stretch. Now, had he stayed at KY……

If he gets St John's to the final four this year it will be the 4th team he has taken to the final four.
That not an easy accomplishment
That is not an argument for him being the best coach ever just a cool stat

Eh. Maybe if he didn't get Louisville in trouble.

Wooden couldn’t do what Pitino did at multiple locations with varying talent

Come on...you really think he had no knowledge whatsoever of what was going on?

Pitino's success has been more difficult than it was in the Wooden era

Thanks in large part to Sam Gilbert.
Not that Wooden wasn't a great coach, but he was in Westwood for 15 years before his first national championship. The subsequent dynasty came about once Pauley Pavilion was built, and Gilbert had his checkbook open to the players.

I agree. I doubt his car salesman buddy would buy players at a different school.
