Who in their right mind would want to pay for overpriced real estate around a bunch of left wing liberal lunatics?

I'm not a fan of Palo Alto. Its a mix of 60s and 70s style houses and generic new apartment complexes. Too much traffic as well.

There are much better places to live in the Bay area.

Said while sitting in a beanbag chair in a $2000/month studio apartment in Austin sipping a $14 kombucha you drained your debit card to buy.

I've posted this before but this is the house in Palo Alto I grew up in. It has busy train tracks right behind it that rattle the house multiple times an hour, and was a blue collar neighborhood when I was a kid. Last sold for $3mm. And that's without the awesome tire swing my dad hung on the branch over my head.

Thanks, I think. It's the OT so you never know if sarcasm. That was a quick stop on a road trip between Seattle and LA. So if it's sarcasm, those were just road clothes. If genuine, that's just the cool shite I wear on road trips.

There are quite a few issues that are driving up housing costs for proper American citizens. Unfettered immigration and REITs are really hurting the middle and lower classes.

But when it comes to a home in this price range, limiting foreign investment would go a long way towards making this kind of home more reasonably priced. Wealthy Asians are still dumping tons of money into US (and Canadian) real estate.
