How can you have such a drop this year?
Have they missed on some transfer portals?

I dunno, maybe those of us who predicted losing 2 guys who pitched a lot of innings and were drafted at 3 and 87 would be tough to replace were right.

I think there’s only 1 college baseball portal, I’m sure JJ knows about it

Last year you quit on the team, then they won a championship.

Can you never have too many retarded fans?

It starts with a strike and it is amazing to see pitchers at this level have no control of the zone, none. I can't recall seeing that many free passes in years of watching travel ball, HS and Legion ball.

You can't win if you can't throw strikes, period. I'm a huge CJJ fan, but It reflects poorly on these pitchers (physical & mental makeup) and the coaches. NO other way to say it.

We have great pitching this year once the roles are rearranged.

Evans in the pen could move us in that direction. But who then starts on Sundays?

All I know is that Evans has never proven to be a very good starter and he cannot be the Friday night guy for now at least.

People wanted Yeskt fired this time last year if I remember correctly. He will get the pitchers straight.

Poor coaching and lack of talent. You never see Brian O’Connor or Jim Schlossnagel teams have drop offs like this.

Not saying you’re wrong. Because I firmly believe Evans is not a Friday night starter and is our most valuable end of game closer. But… if you’re right, why hasn’t Jay & Yeskie made those changes yet?

I mean… we started SEC play this weekend.

Brian O'Connor once went 5 straight seasons without 40 wins. Jay has been a better coach than him for a decade.

Schloss doesn't have a title. He also followed up his last 3 CWS appearances by going

2018: 33-23 (no post season)
2019: 34-28 (knocked out in regionals)

2023: 28-27 (knocked out in regionals)

2025: 44-14 (knocked out in regionals)

it’s honestly more guys we thought would step up not stepping up

Cowan, Rizy, Williams, And Evans were all significantly better last year and have looked rough.

It’s not like they’ve shown nothing though and there is always hope.

I think Evans maybe needs to go back to the pen.
