12 days of constant high intensity combat operations will wear on even the best trained crews.

So maybe a midair collision while refueling?

Sounds like contact during refeling.

Probably not collision, as you wish, but contact damage while trying to connect.

I wonder what it collided with. Pretty wild that the other (presumably smaller) craft was able to land safely.

Prayers for all aboard. Hopefully they survived.

It’s not like these guys can eject. I don’t even know if they wear parachutes. Hopefully it was a somewhat controlled crash landing.

When two moving things make inappropriate contact, that is a "collision."

When one of the two things is stationary, that is an "allision."

Since both airships were flying, contacting one another in a manner that is unintended would be a "collision."

Your comment, "Probably not collision" "but contact damage" makes no sense.

We don’t care. This isn’t a spelling class.

Probably not a collision but an entanglement. It’s a way more complex dance than people understand.

I don't know anything about these tanker jets. Is there really no means to eject or jump?

Unless it caught fire while refueling, this makes me think this wasn’t the boom involved but maybe another plane in the formation hit it or something?

The Kc-135 would have been the larger airplane so more mass, you’d think if anything the smaller plane would have been damaged and not able to land.

Terrible though that’s not a small crew. Best case it was likely a crash landing

They cannot bail out nor eject.

There’s definitely no ejection seats. It’s just a modified Boeing airliner. I’m not sure if they wear chutes or not but it wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t.
