This matters, but so does coaching
Investing more $ into MM is a bad strategy

Except this is an example of resource allocation done extremely poorly relative to roi. Take half of the basketball budget what impact do you have on our 3 win return. That four mil going to baseball has a proven track record. That’s his point

This list is complete bullshite..and the source is "OU insider"

List is shite. Arky spent dbl that.

Arguing MBB vs Baseball budget allocation is pointless when WBB is just burning money like the US government

Loosest rims in the sec:
1. LSU
2-15. Everyone but UK
16. UK

You guys really think baseball isn't giving Jay what he wants? Revenue share is only a small part of this. Maybe they just whiffed big on evaluations which is what it appears combined with the portal just didn't have what it usually does. That's kinda what happened. The baseball portal wasn't as good as it was in previous years so not a lot of options for LSU. They packed the wrong players, banked on the wrong ones like Bide, and whiffed on portal evaluations. Doesn't mean it was because of budget.

UK has a $22M roster and letting McMahons team give them all they can handle?

LSU spent $8–10M
Unfortunately about 35% of that budget has sustained season ending injuries. Would be about 27 points per game that needs to be replaced.

You obviously failed to take business classes.
College athletic departments are becoming a business.
Baseball has no ROI because they lose money. They can win 10 straight nattys. They will still be listed in the liability column while Football and Basketball will be listed in the assets

If the OP's post is real that's pretty damn bad LSU was competitive NIL wise with the rest of the SEC and can't manage 3 wins. What else is it going to take to realize McFly is not the guy with his historically awful SEC record at LSU. Injuries be damned if a coach has to live or die on 2 players he's not a good coach anyway. I think we've seen enough of his results to make that as fact by now.
Doesn't seem smart business wise to keep a guy in a sport that should be making you money like football but is probably now looking at loses due to handed tickets out free nobody wants.

McMahon needs to go, and loathe him… but let’s not act like DJ Thomas and Reed weren’t 30% of that and haven’t played half the season. The roster playing in the sec is $5ish. No miller, the one in the tourney is $4 mil
Posted on 3/11/26 at 1:12 pm to S
Of true, UF spent half what UK did, and can win it again. Memo: Guard play matters in the tournament, and UF has it.

You can never trust any of these numbers, anyone claiming to know the actual full NIL every player for every team is getting is full of it. This isnt public knowledge, just look at the absolute vaugeness of the "$10+M" ones then Kentucky right at $22M
Is it $10M, $15M, $20m for $10M+ ones? Huge differences there

This
No matter what boxtards want to believe, baseball has a limited ceiling, you can pour all the resources you want into it, it’s not going to be a big money maker
LSU’s coach is a loser but that doesn’t mean we should ignore basketball going forward, you leave way too much money on the table

So were the numbers stated last year to justify the decision to bring MM back for (hopefully) one more year of "fun". But I guess total conjecture is only "true" if it supports your position

Alabama is getting their $$ worth.
