What guys are you keeping an eye on?

WR
Jauan Jennings
Deebo Samuel

Seems like Jauan would want way too much for us, and Deebo is more of a return guy at this point. But if Jennings isn't getting a lot of interest you have to at least be interested.

I don't know who the next tier down guys are. Any ideas? I am not including Diggs or Hill due to character concerns

Edge/Pass Rush

Joey Bosa
Calais Campbell
Cam
Arnold Ebiketie
Jonathan Allen
Jake Martin

I'd be pretty interested in Ebiketie. He gets a lot of pressures and may be had for a good price

DT

Sebastian Joseph-Day
DJ Reader

CB/S

Rasul Douglas
Kevin Byard
Jaylinn Hawkins

Douglas may be able to be had. Byard and Hawkins may get too much

Guard Depth

Wyatt Teller
Dylan Parham

Why is Darnell Mooney getting little run as a FA? I’d prefer him over other options

Honestly forgot about him, he definitely makes more sense than the other guys.

Is Christian Kirk worth a look?

i'm not convinced we need a veteran WR. We have guys on roster that weren't available from last year (Polk and Bub immediately come to mind plus Trey Palmer)

Maybe a guard since losing Fortner.

But WR, Edge, LB, and CB i feel we'll definitely add to position through draft.

We’ve had too many injuries not to sign a veteran. Can’t count on anyone you listed.

None of these guys preclude you from going after a vet. They definitely SHOULD go after a vet WR. They may not because of the market though

DJ Reader would be great. We could really use a run-stuffing NT.

I like the value of a handful of wr's in the 2nd round that i think are game ready for us. Especially Bell with history w shough.

I think the issue is the $$ they’re demanding
We’ve got our top 2 WRs in Olave and Vele.

Unless we are ready to spend 20 mil you’re not getting better than them with what’s available in free agency,

Our next 2 top receiving options are likely to be Juwan and Fant.

Then we have Polk, Palmer, Tipton, Means, Austin Jr… etc

The staff seems to really like Polk a lot.. and getting into your 4th or 5th option what $ is worth spending that would elevate above these names?

The next option obviously is the draft, which I think we target Chris Bell at 42 and now he’s fighting to be our 3rd or 4th option.

So the final result would be
WR Olave Vele Bell Polk Palmer Tipton
TE Juwan Fant

Either you believe WR was the biggest (or 2nd after Guard) offseason need on this team or you don't

If it is, you do your best to address it in FA. If the deal isn't there, it isn't there. But I'd be shocked if we didn't address it in some context

In a perfect world, you get a mid round WR like Caldwell, Lane, etc. and bring in a savvy vet on a team friendly deal. Someone like an MVS, Tyler Lockett, Deandre Hopkins to help show them how to be a pro.

WR has been a huge need on this team for years now. Anytime your QB has to throw to guys like Kevin Austin and Dante Pettis, you have an issue at the position.

I don’t know man. This isn’t 2010 Drew we’re running out there that elevates borderline guys.

I think we should have at least one known quantity addition to help with Shoughs development

Ngl i like Austin and think he has some upside.. I think Shough can elevate WRs and a group of Olave, Vele, Polk, Palmer and maybe Chris Bell or another WR in 2nd rd is plenty good.

This draft is also super deep and you’ll see some really talented guys in the late rounds that could make the team..

Olave and Vele are known quantities to Shough now.
