Saints trade down for extra picks. Selected LSU CB in 1st. Saints draft QB Simpson in 2nd. Trade Rattler for 6th hopefully.

Why would we waste a 2nd on a QB?
I could see drafting someone like Allar or Klubnik in the 5th or 6th if we trade Rattler for a higher pick and then sign a vet to backup Shough.

Simpson might be steal of draft. Everyone is high Shough like I am. Draft is where a team will take chance on QBs. Why not take a chance on Simpson? Shough looks like a great QB. Its still too early to say that. Saints should go for another QB.

I'm good with trading down and still getting Delane
I'm good with getting a 6th for Rattler
I'm done with short QB's. We had the greatest in history and it was frustrating having a key ball batted down or throw missed due to vision.
Round two pick needs to be a starter. Either G, WR, DT, or LB. Team still has a lot of holes to fill.

Yes, this team has too many holes to take a player they don’t expect to start or play in Round 2.

I’d actually be okay with trading back, getting an extra 1 for next year, and drafting Olaivavega Loane. He’s a stud, but you can’t realistically take a OG at #8. I know it’s not a sexy pick, but offensive line would be set for the next 5 years on the cheap.

Damn, people were pissed that the team "wasted" the 40th pick on Shough when he had an opportunity to compete for a starting spot. Now you want to throw the 42nd pick at someone that will be fighting for the backup spot? And this doesn't even count the fact that Simpson was considered a late 1st rounder that some people think may move up some after FA and the Pro Days.

Thanks for joining the forum Mrs Simpson. I think we’re good at QB for now, but if you can convince someone to trade the house for the rights to draft your undersized mediocre armed boy with the 8th pick, please by all means send them our way.

Let's assume the Saints FO feels like Shough is their guy. That means we are building to start winning now and we need to be drafting starters (especially in the top 2-3 rounds). There are far too many holes to fill to spend a second on a backup QB.
