I called HS basketball for 25 years and in my mid 40s, I was asked to do a juco game. I thought I was doing OK when the coach MFed me about a call and I gave him a T... told him that I dont take that from anyone. Told the assignment secretary that I'll stay on the HS level, but a week later that same juco was on my schedule. I told the assignment that I'm not doing that anymore and he said the coach requested me because I earned his respect for standing up to him.
I still turned down the game. Lol

I thought Knight was at least funny and quotable. If I was a UConn student or fan, I'd be embarrassed to claim him as my team's coach.

Knight was funny, he was a bully but he made a lot of people laugh and I think in most social situations he would be decent company. Hurley is just a psycho... he looks like he is always a minute from having a brain aneurysm because of his extreme anger problems. He really made a complete arse of himself at the Maui invitational a couple years ago. Even with all of his winning and titles, UConn has got to be getting tired of his embarrassing shenanigans. He is embarrassing!!

Main difference is that Hurley came from a wealthy family in NYC. That alone makes him 10x easier to hate on.
