Go into Taco Bell to get 2 bean burritos I want to add sour cream.

95 cents!

I remember in the 90s the entire burrito was only .59 cents

95 cents for just a little dab of sour cream?

Wow

Fast food is no longer fast nor affordable. But hopefully those two facts will deter you from eating highly processed slop too often (not saying I dont dabble in the late night )

You got a bargain. Just googled and saw people talking about paying $1.19 for sour cream at the Bell.

There is no reason to go to Taco Bell, "real" Mexican places give you more for the same or less.

I had to double check the name on the OP...I thought I got drunk last night and didn't remember posting this.

I have been a Bean Burrito with sour cream guy since they were $0.59 as well.

This. I wind up spending $40 for three of us. F*** that. I only go because my son likes their basic bean burrito.

The only way to eat cheap at these places is to take whatever special they are pushing, at Taco Bell that means the $5 box combo.

They charge that for pretty much any add on. I add jalapenos and it's kinda insane when it makes the price of a value menu item increase by 50-100%.

That's all of them now.

I got a Avocado Ranch Chicken Stacker change Avocado ranch to Spicy Ranch and it was a $0.60 upcharge.

It's also 75 cents to add pico de gallo which costs more than an entire meximelt back in the day.

TB has to be one of the biggest rip-offs in the restaurant industry when you consider the ridiculous prices they charge for small portions of shitty food. Just say no.

This.

One of the few benefits of fast food getting more expensive is that my wife and I, when we don't feel like cooking, will walk into town and eat out.

Food is better, better for us, and we get a few thousand extra steps in (plus a lot of incline steps as we live in a very hilly town). It also feels more engaging, and instead of watching a show we're sitting and talking.

The taco bell 5.99 box remains the best deal in fast food

Taco Bueno bean burritos are at least two orders of magnitude better than taco bell.

I like the chicken chalupas with a burrito supreme. Got big the other day and for those two items it was over $10. It's just insane for what you get.
I can get cheaper off the a la carte menu at a sit down Mexican place.
