Iran has played their limited hand masterfully, in my opinion.

Instead of focusing on military targets, Iran has struck oil and LNG production sites in Saudi and Qatar.

According to the Qatari oil ministry, “even if the war ended tomorrow, it would take weeks to months to return to normal LNG deliveries.” (reported in the Financial Times).

Additionally, Iran has struck at least 10 ships in the Strait of Hormuz, reducing traffic by 90% compared to before the war. Before U.S. strikes, 14mn barrels of crude oil and 86mn tons of LNG passed through the Strait everyday.

If Trump doesn’t find a way to open the Strait immediately, which means guaranteeing safe passage so carriers can obtain insurance, this war will undoubtedly cause a massive recession worldwide.

They can’t compete head to head with the U.S./Israel military, so they are utilizing guerrilla warfare, if you will.

SECWAR touts our military dominance over them, but that’s obvious. Iran just sent crude oil to $150/barrel before the end of the month unless something is done.

So prior to this action in Iran, we lived in a world under threat of Iran causing a world wide recession? That can’t be allowed to continue if true.

Why ? The longer it’s shut the more crucial the problem becomes and the worse it gets for certain groups of nations

Does anyone here think that the most powerful military on the planet didn’t think about and war game the idea that Iran might try to use this as a retaliatory tactic?

I don’t think we were blindsided by this and I think we have plans in place for it.

That's the point that all of the idiots (including those who profess to be on the Right side) keep either not understanding or willfully forgetting.

WTF is this garbage. GTFO. They are on the brink of collapse after what their President said this morning

Oh nooooo! It may take weeks to get normal LNG deliveries…just in time for the summer when we don’t need near as much of it

It's "closed" because Lloyd's refused to insure maritime commerce through the strait.
