Iran claims they bombed an oil tanker in the strait today.

Opening and keeping the strait open seems like it will be one of the biggest problems.

Insurance availability and personnel willing to man the tankers.

Bombing the sh t out of them, depleting their amo firing capabilities and finishing up with proxy boots on the ground seems like the way we are going now to lead to a regime change.

It worked out by causing massive worldwide increase in costs for shipping for 8 years.

Thus impacting the worldwide economy.

First off, the Canal was not closed by Egypt's choice. It was the de facto frontline following Egypt's butt kicking in the Six-Day War. Second, the closure was an economic DISASTER for Egypt, and a national humiliation. Third, the closure incentivized construction of supertankers incapable of canal transit, and a restructuring of international trade circumventing the canal, never to return. Hence my question.

Iran has played their limited hand masterfully, in my opinion.

How many times in the past have you said "Trump had played his hand masterfully"?

And?

It was closed for 8 years by Egypt.

I never said that closing any of those straights would help those countries in the long run. In fact Iran KNOWS it’s harmful ultimately to their self interests hence why they didn’t take the bait in their war with Iraq. I’m just asking how it’s justified to go bombing another country because they could close a shipping lane and if it is who else does that apply to.

But now you think it’s justified to bomb Iran and take out their regime because the *might* do something stupid.

It’s not fricking closed. fricking Lloyd’s of London cancelled all of the insurance of the transport vessels in the region. They can’t move until the ships and their cargo are underwritten again which is why Trump ordered us to begin underwriting them. Please educate yourself before starting an idiotic panic thread.

No. You didn't. Once again, that is what drove the question I posed.

Wait the minute. So just because some facts don’t align with everything going perfectly that means we are against America? You’re in a cult if you think everything is going perfectly.

I think they are blowing part of their load because they fear a physical invasion somewhere along the coast probably at Bandar Abbas that is right across the Straits from the UAE.

If you want the Straits to stay open that's your target .

Show me where I said everything is going perfectly

The only guy who came close in this thread was the OP who said Iran has played this masterfully (whatever this is)

I think RFK is an anti American POS. If you want to throw in on his position be my guest

I will note for the record he hasn’t been back since posting that piece of garbage.
