Public service reminder - International Women’s Day is Sunday

Don’t forget to treat them extra special on their day. I hope those of you in shared custody arrangements have a visitation schedule that takes this holiday into account.

I guess that is why Dillard's department store had a large ad in the newspaper for their custom bra fitting event. Wish my school guidance counselor had told me about a possible career as a professional bra fitter. I was nevertheless able through diligent practice to acquire some ability to remove them, but it would have been nice to get paid for it, even minimum wage.

My wife, may god rest her soul, and I dated the first year I moved overseas. She was from Belarus and apparently they take IWD seriously over there, and the men walk around giving women single flowers all day. Even to strangers I think.
I had obviously never heard of international women's day and she had just assumed I was going to have flowers for her and it took a lot of convincing on my part to get her to believe that its just not a thing in the USA. I honestly thought she was joking when she first mentioned it.
Oh well, that was something we used to laugh about before she passed away.
