Don’t pay attention to alot politically, but kind of hard not to with this.

I’m assuming we will see gas prices rise?

I know no one really knows…. It what’s the outlook?

How long? How high?

saw a headline this morning talking about oil prices up and to expect it to double in the coming weeks, but I shook that off as anti-Trump doom/gloom talk

It will be a temporary bump - the USA makes more oil than the Middle East at the moment. The while house said they are rolling out a plan to keep gas prices low - as a Tesla owner it nice to not have to worry about gas prices.

I’m hearing 150 a barrel maybe higher if the strait of Hormuz isn’t opened within 2 weeks

Expect 4-5 dollar gas

Of course. They will use this an excuse to rip the American public off. Kind of like grocery prices.

When a commodity is short of demand price goes up.

This. Hell all gasoline in storage tanks was likely purchased prior to the war but they’ll raise prices anyways

That’s a great thing.

Doesn’t mean you’re insulated from higher oil prices causing higher gasoline prices.

Basic economics is lost on most people. If the supply drops and demand stays the same the price will go up. If the good was bought by sellers 5 minutes ago or 5 decades ago doesn't matter.

It’s unknowable.

If the straights of Hormuz stay closed til September gas could reach $10/gal

It absolutely blows my mind how people react differently depending on which side is causing the issue.

People really freak out about gas prices right now?

Is everyone a sorry arse helpless moron?

Wait are you saying that gas prices shouldn't matter ever?

Or that they should only matter if a Democrat is president?
