Iranians agree. Iran in old Persian language means the land of Aryans. The Shah's father who was a nationalist changed it to Iran, that is why the forces who were fighting Hitler used it as an excuse to enter Iran because they said he is sympathetic towards Hitler.

The Ottoman Empire was failing long before that. The Greek war of independence in the 1820’s was the first big sign that the empire was failing. By 1853 Türkiye was known as “The sick man of Europe.” The only thing keeping them from disintegrating was France and Great Britain propping it up to keep Russia out of central Europe.

No it has always been Persian Gulf, some Arab countries tried to call it Arabian Gulf in recent years but it didn't work.
