The B-52 Arrival: Why Strategic Bombers Over Tehran Signal Total U.S. Air Superiority

Can you even imagine these things are still flying today? I wonder if they will be doing some carpet bombing to level an area needed for the site of a new US AFB in the region?
No Need For STEALTH When This BEAST is FLYING!!

The B-52 Stratofortress is now openly operating over and near the Iranian battlespace. The non-stealth, eight-engine aircraft has a large radar signature, and its presence raises the question: Does the US have total air dominance? The B-52’s presence suggests air superiority, possibly even air supremacy, has been achieved.
Regardless, the bomber presence underscores that, to date, Epic Fury has been a tactical success for US-Israeli forces.

Do we know if the B-52s are actually operating over Iran or launching cruise missiles from a distance?

It is shocking how many people either hate this country or are rooting for us to lose the war so it fits their political narrative

They are being escorted by fighters I’m sure.
The moment an Iranian radar tries to paint them he’s got a HARM up his arse.

Carpet bombing with 80 500lb bombs is insane.

Just because the bombs use gravity instead of propulsion doesn't mean that they aren't precision weapons.

At this point, they are scheduled to begin service for basically a full 100 years, extending into the 2050’s.
Without looking, anybody know how many of these were actually made (within, say, 50)?
I was kinda shocked when I learned.

What gets me is the B-1 has a bigger payload.

If B-52s are flying in a combat air space, you can bet your arse that the US thinks it is highly unlikely Iran or their allies can touch them.
You can also bet your arse that serious destruction is happening.

No carpet bombing
You're correct.
Imagine being a war fighter with "restrictions" as opposed to total war to meet the ends.
