The main character in the next GoW will be Faye

I’m really curious how the executive/board meetings go when these games inevitably fail. Like do they all just pretend they have no idea why these games failed catastrophically or are they actually honest and just seething that once again the gaming public rejected their DEI garbage.

This isn't going to be a mainline GoW title, it will be a spinoff

Like I said, has to be a prequel for obvious reasons

How fricked would it be to have a main GoW game without Kratos as the main?

Don't want this at all, though we know she fought Thor so there's that. A dlc would have been fine. I'm kind of interested in seeing Atreus explore Jotunheim but I guess we're not gonna get that

What happens at these meetings when these games fail is a lot of finger-pointing, all at the wrong people. The ones responsible won't take any fault, and the rest will remain silent as they would get bombarded with claims of racism, sexism, and every other ism there is. They just play along and let these big corporations lose more money - they can afford it, right? Until they remove these idiots from their business and remove the same idiots in HR, they'll continue making these games for the non-existent "modern audience."

This feels like it would have been better in the form of something like a Tell Tale game-type. I rarely enjoy prequels because of the lack of consequences, be it in the story or with actual player decisions, so when there is one I prefer it to be shorter than a traditional game.

If I were to want to see a different protagonist AND it be female, either Freya or Thrúd. They have parts in the current and future story, and Thrúd and Loki being in a similar dual character story like they did with Kratos and Loki would be more appealing.

But I am curious if this isn’t people fretting over what ends up being Faye being in the same role as Loki, with Kratos as the actual main character.

I find it hard to believe that they would market it without GoW in the name of the game though

Ragnarok came out in 2022. I just don’t understand why leadership would waste time on a spin-off that isn’t going to compare with the main series when they could just make the next installment

I see this as similar to the Miles Morales game. It did well enough on its own and didn't prevent Spiderman 2 from coming out. I don't think people were asking for that but they played it and enjoyed it because they liked the first Spiderman game so much.
