I’ve been a Christian since I was 12 and was raised, on and off, in Southern Baptist churches. I can remember hearing that Israel are “God’s chosen people” and that we always have to be allied with them.

From my perspective, the scriptures are pretty vague on that. What do you think, and please give Biblical support for your beliefs?

Much of what was the "heartland" of ancient Israel (the central hill country with cities like Hebron, Bethlehem, and Shechem) is located in what is now the Palestinian Territories.

It doesn’t matter

They’re a strong ally that helps protect US Middle East assets is what matters

Looking at it through the religion filter is a fool’s errand and just leads to confusion

Just because we aren't "called" to help Israel doesn't mean it isn't in our best interest to crush the Islamist in Iran and free its people from their tyranny.

'Chosen' by God, not by their own doing, but to reflect God's presence in human affairs. As is the Church/the Body of Christ, today

Sure. I'll play.

True followers of Christ want His will to be done in all things. He wants Israel to turn from its sin and seek Him. Despite their refusing, He has still cared and protected Israel.

We are his instrument. We have prospered because of it.

"I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you."

Why you think our quality of life has exponentially exploaded last 80 odd years when our economy had seemingly flatlined?

This isn't really a question of "Do you like Israel". They have a covenant with God. There is a divine law between God and the nations of the earth. Bless them, you are blessed. Curse them, you are cursed. The end.

yep. Modern Israel was created because after WWII the elites realized they needed an enemy not on their doorsteps to focus on or risk their wealth being wiped out.

What purpose were they chosen?

Answer that, and you get the reason they were called chosen. They were chosen. Are, is the question people what to latch onto.

There is no biblical evidence Christians should support the modern nation of Israel.

This is what it always boils down to.

It's the only democracy in the middle east and they are flying with our forces as wing men in the air right now.

You got brainwashed by Iranian infiltration of places like this under the cover of "America first"

Wait until they fall and all of a sudden the JewHate and it's supporters die down to a trickle.

You've been fooled and you shouldn't need the Bible to prove that.
