AI: The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 significantly benefited the average American by signaling the end of the Cold War, easing fears of nuclear annihilation, and fostering optimism for global peace. It ushered in an era of increased economic globalization, opening new markets and lowering trade barriers.

You have to understand. Those East German’s were shown on TV saying that that hated America.
If the wall falls, it’s only going to lead to unrest and a rise in terrorist organizations!

Did we drop bombs on Germany? (to make the wall come down)

I forgot where Ronald Reagan used missles to take out Gorbachev and the East German leaders.
No in fact Kennedy and American troops watched the wall being constructed and decided to let diplomacy and the east German people decide.

This is your take?

The second key date, August 13, 1961 was the day that the East Germans began building the Berlin Wall. Smyser, having been alerted at the time to "strange" activity in East Berlin, recalled driving around the city in the early morning and seeing preparations for construction and an increased police presence on the streets. The title of the book derived from Kennedy's response to the news that the East Germans were building the Wall: to Kennedy it was "a hell of a lot better than a war."

I would submit to you that in the long run, it hasn't.
The stability of the Cold War kept proxies under control and kept the Left in this country as the fringe movement it always was.

Because we had already bombed the frick out of them and annihilated Germany

Gave us that Scorpions song.

The troops had no choice.
Did you serve in the U.S. military? If so, then you would know that.
As for diplomacy being deployed…how so?
By conceding?

So concession.
Perhaps given the strength of the USSR, it was the correct decision.
But Iran is NOT the USSR.
Equating them is incredibly disingenuous.
The word cuck gets thrown around here a lot, but it definitely applies to you in this instance.

Are you using faulty logic to try to tie that event with current events?

It was the opposite. It ended the cold war and the view of Russia as a super power. In turn we basically focussed all of our attention domestically which put the progressive movement on steroids!
30 years later here we are.

Ultimately it was a financial net positive for the US taxpayer. It signified the end of the Cold War and as a result the defense expenditures as it related to GDP went down as well.
We closed down a lot of superfluous bases around the country including Ft Ord and Alameda and Bergstrom.

Your question doesn’t deserve an answer because it’s inane. But the fall of the Berlin Wall reflected the collapse of the Soviet Union, and that’s a good thing unless you’re nostalgic for the Bolsheviks…
