Master showwoman and unequaled coach in my view. Having the nerves/foresight/balls to sit Williams for the entire 2nd half of Ole Miss game and then sit Knox for entire Missouri game and then sit Joyner for most of Tenn. game was master class stuff. Similar to Johnson in baseball she seems to be pushing all the right buttons to give her team the best chance to win each and every game. It also helps when your team is loaded w depth and you can go deep into your bench for quality play. She has a quality point guard, super skill level forwards, and great front court defenders and rebounders and scorers. Definitely her most complete team w quality depth. Good job Mulkey! Keep it going!

This is no doubt Mulkey's overall most talented team she's had since being at LSU. The freshmen are already really good for their age and the transfers have improved from the previous year, so she is developing too. IMO for this team to go all the way, will depend on making shots against the elite teams. We haven't beaten South Carolina since Mulkey has been here is because we always shoot poorly against them.

Is it our shooting or is it their D?

We have a mental block against USCe for some reason and do whatever we need to do to lose that game. LSU is a final four type team, and depending on our matchup, championship type team. UCONN will be tough for anyone to beat, but all it takes is one hot shooting day.

We still do extremely stupid stuff.
The last 4 min of the 1st quarter v Tenn. was just Keystone Cops level silliness when they were putting up the slightest little backcourt pressure with a late trap. We just went stupid for awhile.
Then in the fourth we push the lead to 18 and immediately we let up and let them have two wide open threes, turn it over a couple of times and bam they had it back to 10 in less than 2 minutes.
I would imagine it drives Kim mad.

It’s our shooting. We are pretty streaky, at best.

The reason we have trouble with Carolina and Texas is because those two teams play the most intense defense.

Yes these teams play very good defense and you will not score as much or as easily against them but if you rewatch the games you will notice when we do have open looks we dont hit them as frequently as we do against lesser opponents. Free Throws were a perfect example against South Carolina the last game. That's the easiest shot you can take.

I’d definitely say the deepest team. Overall most talented? Maybe. Maybe not.

Knox certainly responded well. It was going to go one of two ways, and it worked out well for everyone.

Final four will be a combination of
LSU
UCONN
USC
UT
UCLA
One of these will have to be a 2 seed, probably us so we’ll have to beat 1 of them in the elite 8 to make it to the final weekend. Hopefully we get UCLA or UT in our regional bracket and avoid USC/UCONN til then

Don't forget Vandy. Kentucky and Oklahoma can cause problems.

Not that I know much about WBB teams but I trust mulkey with a revenge minded team with superior talent.

Baskets games are very big matchups dictated . The added depth allows here more options.

Mulkey is obviously a great coach. I cannot comment about Joyner, because I have never seen her play in the past. Fulwiley is the most physically gifted player on the team, but she can still do some crazy things on the floor. Koval has made great strides in terms of her conditioning; she has become a good defensive player and decent rebounder. I do not know who is in charge of developing her game in the low post, but they are not getting good results. She should always shoot with both hands until the final release of the ball. She never makes any fakes (shot fakes, pass fakes, head and shoulder, etc); she should also be allowed to shoot from the junction.

I think we have trouble with teams with length and out 3 point defense but that’s about it.
