CMM is getting one more year...

I have been outspoken on this forum ( you can go check) that Cmm is gone and CWW is coming back. I still feel this will happen, but not until after next season. Why? What has changed? Honestly it is $. CMM buyout goes from 8M to 4M in one year. LSU is still coming off a 53M buyout of Kelly, plus the money paid into Lane/ assistants/ NIL for football. So the "powers that be" have already confirmed with CWW a deal for him to come back, but they need another year, and CWW is fine to sit tight at NCS. It pains me to have to endure another year of CMM, but I am just telling you what I am hearing and my info is solid.

The LSU athletic department hates their own basketball fans. I hope no one goes to the games and that we lose them all.
Can’t wait for another year of a boring as hell non-conference schedule, getting killed in conference by other teams with a pulse and not sniffing the NCAA tournament.

don't we have a couple assistants that have contracts running out after this season? if you renew them they will want some form of buyout especially knowing how things are going. if you change assistants what new assistant is gonna want to coach here for one year with no buyout? So cut bait this year will cost more for him and less for assistants. cut bait next year and it's less for him and more for assistants.

I’ve said multiple times this season that he needs to go. I don’t imagine we will see any improvement next year.

Moscona saying $10M buyout for McMahon and lsu assts. is lazy reporting and he should know better. Buyouts are paid monthly and there are offset clauses in each coaching contract if the coach gets employed elsewhere, which will happen. Not a BK $8M roster would fix b ball issue…). What we can’t afford is to have 30 people at the PMAC vs. Arkansas for the only other sport that actually generates revenue.

This is not accurate
His buyout is 80% of his remaining contract his salary is $400k/yr, he has $2.6M $2.7M and $2.8M in his last 3 years as compensation on top of that.
If he is fired after this season it would be about $7.44M; it would only go down to about $5M after next season. This is all paid out over the remainder of his contract term, so cash flow is extremely minimal different doing it now vs. next year.
There is no real difference in the grand scheme of things.
You are hearing the things certain people want you to hear to drum up more $ support for the next staff. His buyout is peanuts in the grand scheme of things, but they want donor support for the next coach and staff to obviously go out and get a good roster because its going to be a heck of a cleanup job from the current roster.
Even this week multiple insiders/big donors on premium boards have said he is cooked and will be gone after this season. They have to wait till April 1 or after to announce Wade as thats who they really want, thats when his buyout is reduced by $2M from that end.

WW's buyout also drops to $1MM on April 1, 2027. It is currently at $5MM today and will be at $3MM on April 1, 2026.
