Yeah, I know this could be viewed as no shite news. But I’m just posting it lol. Also not sure how plugged in Campbell is as far as Saints news goes.

In speaking with team sources, a few prospects stand out at this time. The Saints love Ohio State safety Caleb Downs, and they also really like Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love.

i asked chatgpt what position the love child of taysom and morestead would be.
If Taysom Hill and Thomas Morstead had a football baby…
That kid is 100% playing “offensive weapon / emergency specialist.”
Here’s why:
From Taysom:
Quarterback skills
Running back power
Tight end toughness
Special teams mentality
From Morstead:
Elite leg strength
Pinpoint placement
Clutch under-pressure kicks
So their baby would probably be:
The only player who throws a touchdown on 2nd down,
Punts it 65 yards on 3rd down just because he can,
Then kicks the extra point himself.
Official position title?
QB / TE / Gunner / Punter / Emergency Kicker
In other words: the ultimate Sean Payton-era Swiss Army Knife.
Honestly… that child might just invent a new depth chart category.

Beef up the line in free agency then take love. If you don’t sign an elite guard and solid back up center sign Downs, Bain, or Ohio State LB.

Ughhh you don’t draft safeties in the top ten

You do when they are generational talents. Would you not take Troy Polamalu in the top 10? Ed Reed?
I don’t know if Downs is that level of talent, but if he is you don’t think twice about it

I understand no name sources, but does every team announce their first round draft pick desire. Seems everyone knows who Saints wanna draft.

It's the same thing with Love as well. If they truly believe either is a generational talent, you can break "the rules" for them.
But they can't just be really good players to justify it. That would be a failing (unless none of the other players are even close to as good when they pick).

Teams that want to trade down leak things like this

I agree with all of this

You truly are stupid.
But in no way fo you take love. Dude faced 2 good defenses and got shutdown. And definitely not a generational talent.

And stop parroting espn too when they say a word all you fricks do is repeat it. Now suddenly “generational” when none of these dudes are that is your favorite phrase.
Something no one said until Trevor Lawrence was drafted and didn’t come back up until he was showing he was a bust for a bit

Exactly. We can't lose the option of several top ten worthy players.

This is horseshite. In the last 2 seasons ND played 7 games against teams with top 25 rush defenses at the end of the season. 1 of those was OSU in the national championship where Love was hurt and only got 4 carries, so he realistically faced 6. He averaged 88.2 YPG on 73 carries with 7.25 YPC and 6 touchdowns. That doesn't include his receiving stats.

water is wet. this is dumb, everyone knows we are high on both considering they are 2 of the top prospects.
The question is what do you do if both are available. Im taking phone calls depending how the draft is falling.
but Downs over Love by a small margin.

Downs may be one of the safer picks but damn it doesn't get my blood pumping much.

Mickey has to ask himself, is Downs the missing piece to going to the playoffs. IMO, he's not. Downs' going to be a great player and he's going to do great things in the NFL. I would draft Love or Bains if he's available, both are game changers, something the Saints lack.
