Yes the pitching in the first four innings was abysmal, but we left a lot of runners stranded in scoring position. Furthermore, we were within three runs with 4 innings left. This ONE is on the hitting as much as the pitching!

It’s easier to blame pitching because up to this point, the hitting has been stellar and the pitch has been average. It is what it is. They’ll get better and half the guys you saw won’t pitch meaningful innings this year

When you walk and hit as many batters as we did it is 100% on pitching. If they just got up there and hit everything we threw at them it's a different story, but that's not what happened. You score 6 runs, you should win games.

11 total free passes between HBP and BB is absolutely unacceptable.

We scored 6 runs. Half our average for the young season. It is fair to say the loss was shared. That is not 100% on pitching. Our poor pitching in a couple of really bad pitching seemed to set the tone for the loss.

The walks and hbp were a bad look for sure.

We are last or tied for last in era, hit batters, walks and wild pitches in the sec. I think people are understating how bad the pitching has been. And outside of Sherrin, Guidry nobody in relief, has pitched up to expectations thus far. It will most definitely improve but but how much is the question.

Pitching was poor. Brown thrown a ball into the stands. They had some timely bass hits. It was a perfect storm for a loss.

Pitching gave 11 free passes last night

This is a 99% pitching defeat, you cant expect the batters to put up 10+ every game, 6 runs is pretty solid

They didnt have many base hits but seemed to come with runners on base a lot which happens when you give 11 free passes away

We should expect better out of the pitchers to not give up more than a free pass an inning in an game, and Jay would say the same thing. It's hard to win games like that

Spot on, Les. Let me see if I can sum up what Les is saying about what typically happens when a far superior team loses to a lesser opponent. That's baseball.

This is audition part of the season for pitchers. Fans on here expect Jay to roll out Bob Gipson every day and then magically in the latter part of the season bring in relief pitching with little to no work and expect them to do the job...

When you hit 5 batters... yes, that abysmal.

When you score 6 runs and you have above average pitching, you should normally win. Therefore, I put more blame on the pitching ( especially in the first 4 innings ), than I do on the hitting.

When you score 6 runs, you should win with above average pitching. That didn't happen, therefore, the pitching gets more blame than the hitting.
