Friend of mine works in corporate for Love's Truckstop and says they just opened a new location in Mandeville off the newest Interstate exit. Hardees and Godfathers Pizza I think. The only time I ever had Hardees was for an LSU/Miss State game 10 or 12 years ago in Columbus MS. Had the porkchop and the chicken fried steak biscuits for breakfast if I remember correctly and they were damn good. Never had the burgers or regular menu though and they are the same company as Carl's Jr I think. I think its an east/west of the Mississippi thing like the Hellman's/Best Foods arrangement. Might have to try it out on my next visit. I don't recall the Northshore ever having a Hardees.

That leaves my never tried fast food list at

In n out
Shake Shack
Carl's Jr./ Hardees
Culver's
Jack in the Box
Steak n Shake

Wendy's and Sonic used to be favorite go to but in the last 5 years they have both significantly dropped in flavor and quality IMO. A good fast food burger is a guilty pleasure for me. 5 Guys (although no drive through) remains my go to fix when I have a quick craving.

I’ve seen a bunch of Hardees go up and close within a year.

I haven't had Hardee's in 10+ years. Never cared much for their burgers.

However, about 15 years or so ago, I'd stop at the one in Iowa, LA early Monday morning on my way to Beaumont for the workweek. The sausage, egg and cheese biscuit was very legit.

the closest I know of to us in South La are in Mobile / Pensacola area. If you find yourself over there try out a Culver's Butter Burger

I used to crush a hardees frisco burger back in the day. My buddy always got the mushroom swiss.

Those two are exactly what I would get back in the day. The sour dough Frisco burger was really good. Haven't been to one in ages..

Godfathers Pizza

Was a weekly staple for us in the 80s. Had some sort of buy a glass pitcher and get free soda refills deal. Was at Vets where I-10 crosses over.

Hardees, meh

With the size of a Love's truck stop, this Hardees location will be just fine.

I haven't had Godfathers since LSU back in the late 80s/early 90's.

Any aspiring BR food chain entrepreneur should explore a Culver's or Ritter's or Bruster's BR location. I think any of the three could do very well here.

Hardee's pork chop biscuit (gravy on the side) is the king of fast food breakfast.

Hardee’s biscuits are legit. Or at least they used to be. Used to make them fresh in the restaurant every morning.
Not sure if that’s still the case.
