How would a war with China look?

We wouldn’t win if we tried to invade them. If we went nuclear, then they most likely would as well and nobody would win.

If it was defensive or something similar to how the Pacific front was fought against Japan, we would win.

Invading and conquering China isn’t feasible with their population and government.

China is a paper tiger.

When did we go to war with the Houthis (if that's who you meant)? Are you just talking about the airstrikes in Yemen?

All out? Catastrophic for both. Our Grid and their Dam goes down the first day.

The MAD narrative is still in effect. Regardless, the CCP knows that the real war is economic, with AI/Robotics being the most effective weapon. The US will be forced to either adopt Authoritarian Socialism or fight their own desperate population.

I promise you this, the issue wouldn’t be us winning, that’s going to happen whether you want to admit it or not. There are levels to the war game and we are at the top not just now, but of all time. Our capabilities matched with our long lineage of war DNA gives us massive advantages.

China historically has been a shite military as soon as technology started advancing and sheer numbers of soldiers didn’t matter as much. The proof is in the pudding, Japan. Much smaller but absolutely has embarrassed China multiple times over their history.

This isn’t just about fighting and dropping bombs. We control every major shipping lane worldwide and China doesn’t even get oil unless we allow the ship to pass. China does not have the workforce because of prior policies to even feed their population. Their policy actually worked way against them because they never considered who would have to produce the food for an elderly population with better healthcare and technology thus increasing life expectancy.

We are a logistical nightmare for everyone, everywhere. This was exactly the plan after WWII in how we setup camp in countries around the world.

Worst case scenario we cut off all oil supplies and food imports to China.

If the war isn’t going as planned they can be massively affected by hitting the Three Gorge Damn. This one act would end the war most likely.

We aren’t looking at a war as much as an extreme humanitarian crisis.

Assuming CCP first strike:

A mass attack on the power grid, followed immediately by a surge of cartel/street gang/Antifa/etc. subversive group violence the likes of which the US has never seen in modern times. And then Xi sits back and enjoys the show, after perhaps dealing with some retaliatory non-nuclear strikes which will grow fewer and fewer over time as the focus becomes retaining order in the homeland.

It would go nuclear because China would be destroyed in a conventional war.

They would attack first, so there would be some wins for them early. It would take about six months for the US to properly mobilize, and then we would utterly destroy them until they fired off a small nuke to make us stop. At that point we would stop.

China would probably be left with complete control of The South China Sea and Taiwan, but they would then be strangled by economic blockade. Xi would then be assassinated.
