Does getting closer to the sun make it warmer without leaving earth?

Imagine the sun is to the east. No clouds. Windy day.
If I move a mile to the east would it be a tiny bit warmer since im closer to the sun?
I understand I most likely won’t be able to feel it but would it be even a tad warmer?

You do realize earth is 93,000,000 miles from the sun right?

That’s why I said I didn’t expect to feel it. But scientifically, would it be?

Depends if there’s a cold front to your east at that moment

Sun heats the atmosphere as a whole, being almost 92 million miles from the Sun.
The focus of the light and the length of daylight has more to do with the temperature than absolute distance.

A friend of mine use to think it was hotter in the mountains because they’re closer to the sun, honest to God…

By the time you move so does the sun. It's a wash.

Are you asking if it gets hotter in the first part of the day versus the second part?
The earth is moving you east faster than you can walk. You'd have to be mach 1.5 to "test" this.

It's easier to get sun burnt in high mountains due to increased intensity of ultraviolet radiation.
