Lol! Quite a bit truth in that.

California may be broke at the state level, but they have a population that’s wealthier and more powerful than the population of Texas. It’s the truth.

And that dynamic is eroding away annually.

If the oil and gas industry suddenly disappeared, our state GDP would be at least 30% to 40% less than California’s GDP.
I’m not acting like California is a great state to live because it’s not. But let’s not kid ourselves: a huge chunk of Texas economy comes from oil and gas

California is broke because the gov't in California is doing its best to destroy California. This is not hyperbole or exaggeration. They actually want their state to burn to the ground. They are puppets.

California doesn't have mineral resources?

This is why I argue with my son that socialism is another form of communism. Because when the socialist policies destroy society, there is no capitalism available to pick up the pieces. The socialist's solution to failed policies is government bailouts and takeovers.

California has mineral resources. That is not the problem.

Lets not kid ourselves, if we took away Calis it.dotcom. computer industry, and the 100 billion a year they are stealing from the federal govt.......they would not have the economy of Yemen
Id say Somalia but they probably get more fed govt funding from the US than any state

So what happens as the wealthy move out of California? It's happening in droves and California knows it, otherwise why pass laws that attempt to penalize those who move out? California has tremendous debt it already can't adequately service as well.

Hate to spoil your fun, but IF one of California's largest gap contributors, like tech, we're to all leave (which has started happening), they would lose 15% of their massive gdp.
You can't play IF games...its moronic. They are losing oil as fast as California is losing...refineries, tech giants, etc etc

Whatever. The point is that the prog lefties in the population centers on the coast have made the state broke due to lib BS which is the point from the comedian that obviously flew way over your head.

And that’s the attitude that continues to bleed California. They’ve lost a trillion in wealth in the past year.

Argue with your son? Who raised him? This blows my mind how kids of taxpayers can become so-called "socialists". Socialist with allowance isn't socialism.

I didn't say that my son is a socialist.
He is a political agnostic.
I am frustrated by hundreds of "trump is fascist. Worse than Hitler. This is SS tactics". And his response points to dozens of "kamala is a communist" posts 2 years ago.
17 year olds today are often numb to the frustrations of both sides that they are difficult to break from a moderate position. Skeptical of everything.

If the oil and gas industry suddenly disappeared every state would be fricked. What an odd hypothetical.
