For a few of the athletes that went over there to Milana cartino and use it as a stage to put down on our country. Hats off to Jack Hughes if anyone can rewatch that interview. Absolutely loves our country. Loves being American loves playing for the United States. That should be the spokesperson for this whole Olympic team Go USA

Imagine an NBA player taking that hit to the face and having a tooth knocked out. They’d still be flopping around on the ground and would miss the rest of the season. This dude got up and scored the golden goal!

I hardly watch hockey but those guys got my respect. Not wearing those full face masks like the girls were and just visors is pretty badass too.

I know NBA players are bad from what I read but I can’t imagine its as bad as soccer where they pretend they got their legs and heads chopped off whenever someone brushes them

Guarantee, the entire Gaudreau family will be invited as well.

They only even wear those because they’re forced to. Hockey grandfathers in safety equipment so the few players left old enough to skip visors in the NHL still don’t wear them.

I think for a while players were tilting them completely out of the way of their face, effectively neutralizing their effect and the NHL came down on that.

If someone doesn’t take a picture of Jack Hughes biting his gold medal with that broken tooth it’ll be a failure of epic proportions

I would also mention it was obviously a legit shot to the face. I don't know enough to know if it was dirty or not.

But the one he got called for a few minutes later seemed very obviously an accident AND the Canuck flopped. Hughes' stick lightly hit the guy on the pads and he flopped to the ice grabbing his jaw.

Watching live, I thought Hughes tripped him.

On replay,he caught him in the face. Natural reflex of an unexpected stick to the face is for the head to sling back and knees to buckle.
Maybe if you catch enough of them, you can train your body. But seriously, 99.9% of players hit the ice.

Watch again. It does not hit his face. And I'm not criticizing him for going down necessarily - it was for the ridiculous fake grabbing of his head and jaw like he had actually been hit in the face.
