Think a set of brakes on a CAT 777 costs as much as that whole car, so there's that at least.

Brakes are to a mechanic what a water heater is to a plumber. Easy money

So, the days of jacking your car or truck up under the carport and changing the pads is over for me. I do change the brakes on my Harley.
I think they discourage even turning the disk is discouraged now.

Its so easy though. I do mine on an infinity and mercedes. You learn how real quick when you drive nice imports, lol. Those dealerships or mechanics will frick your eyeballs out

$4500 for a fat set of Brembo brakes and rotors seems like a decent price, actually. Nice car.

I just ordered a set of rear brake pads and rotors from Power Stop and the total, with shipping, is $131.00.
Can I charge my wife $8,800 for the labor?

Depends on the vehicle and depends on if it lived in the Rust Belt. Some newer vehicles with automatic electronic parking brakes have to have a scanner that can reset that system after a brake service. Some have to have the scanner to release those brakes through the ECM before you can do anything with them. With my Toyota, can either use a scanner or manipulate the parking brake switch to put in service mode.

I didn’t watch the whole thing but are those carbon/ceramic brakes?
Unless you are going to track it most people just go back to steel. From what I understand it is a plug and play swap out.

Reason# 374 why no matter how much you hate modern car manufacturers, you don't hate them enough.

This is true. I just did a brake job on my truck this morning and I had my hair in a hoss tail to keep it out of the way. My truck is making a new sound now.

Straightforward job to replace/upgrade on most cars. Flushing the brake fluid on the other hand requires a bit more effort. $9300 is outrageous.
Brembo pads and rotors aren’t worth the money.
