Property taxes for schools you can’t send your kids to, cops that have 45 min response times, garbage that may come once a week, bad roads, etc. I suspect there will be a millennial exodus from downtown areas within the next decade.

It’s a spending issue, not a revenue one. The US gov collects an unfathomable amount of money at the local, state and federal level. Collectively it’s higher than the GDP of every country in the world that’s not the US or China
We spend tens of thousands of dollars per pupil every year for a dogshit public education system. Our infrastructure is half a century old in most places.
Too many freebies to foreigners and inefficient domestic programs.

Dem govt in davidson county (Nashville) has been jacking up property taxes for the last 5 years. Mine have gone up 40% since then. I'll be selling my now overpriced house and moving to an adjacent county.

Well, considering the “poor” do not pay any income taxes there is nothing to cut for them.
As soon as you can explain why the people who make the top 20% in income pay 84% of the total federal taxes we can start to have a conversation.
