I'm not a big gambler, but I decided to bet pickwise free parlay recommendations for a week both on NBA and NCAAM. I have to admit, some spreads moved, but all in all not one hit. I only bet $10 on each with a couple of promos (on another site), so I didn't lose much and the results confirmed what I was thinking. Going 24 wins and 20 losses is no way to make a living.

Out of luck, I ended up covering my loss on LSU baseball. Have any of the OT had success in recommendations, or is it just a luck pick more for fun?

Honestly, if those gambling advice sites really had good insights, I think they would devote their efforts to gambling instead of advising you!

If they were any good they'd be betting their own money instead of selling picks.

Parlays almost never win and these definitely never win.

recommendations
I would recommend not doing it at all. I gambled for about 2 years or so after it became legal and I was around a .500 bettor over that time. It got to the point that I would be stressing every night about some random NBA player’s stats or Mexican soccer or whatever other dumb shite for no reason besides keeping the money in my account alive so I could keep playing. I wasn’t enjoying it anymore so I kicked it to the curb and it felt like throwing off a weight because I can now enjoy my evenings without having to worry about that stuff.

Same although I realized this after I took a break because I had a kid and didn’t have time to follow and watch to make educated bets/decisions. Didn’t take long to realize the ridiculous amount of time I wasted on it. The adrenaline rush and high from winning is super addictive. Obviously

If you have ever noticed, every add you see for the sites offer “parlay bonuses” or “parlay boosts”. The reason why, parlays rarely win.
The best sports gamblers are barely around a 60% win rate. So picking one game is hard enough much less tack on several.

I gamble but I don’t use the sites because they offer too much enticing garbage. I bet now and again at the casino in cash so I’m not tempted to bet the Hawaii game at midnight when I’ve been drinking on the App. I do one game at a time after looking at data and sites like pickwise, covers, and action network. If you are smart about it you can win. I have had three years of winning but granted I only do it on weekends typically.

And avoid the televised big games. The best bets are usually your games in shitty conferences not on TV.

I built a line prediction / sports analytics site last year to educate bettors on how to pick rather than using gut and intuition, I am using AI and custom algorithms to generate predictions. I would link it but I will get whacked again. I created a free TD username for the community.

in betting, the breakeven line is variable depending on the vig. if your betting 10 percent vig the break even point is around 52%, i fyour betting a bunch of underdogs then it moves to the left, betting a bunch of faves and it moves to the right. The professional gamblers hover around 58-60 percent. this is also based upon your betting tendencies, do you bet one unit for every bet or do you fluctuate? Parlays are sucker bets. At best if your getting even odds your chance of winning one bet is 50%, winning two bets is 25%, 3 Bets is 12.5% etc. Now the payouts are bigger, that is agreed Casinos advertise big parlay winners all of the time, but if you did a deep dive into the math your not paying 10 percent juice, you are paying about 18 percent give or take because the vig is also compounding. Now some bettors do bet correlating parlays which have a higher chance of winning, for example in the NFL the underdog and the over is a correlative parlay, statistics and logic say that if the underdog wins then they have to score more than the predicted score thus covering the over/under. It isn't 100% but it happens more than a coin flip.

Covers does some good breakdowns on CFB games with detailing out some comparative stats but at the end of the day betting is still just making an educated guess.

Online sportsbooks should be considered as entertainment only, and that is how they market themselves so everyone should view it that way. If you are actually profiting, they will limit the amount you can bet. If you only take advantage of promos, they will ban you from promos. They only want losers. If you see a screenshot of someone posting a huge boosted parlay hit on $5000 bet, rest assured, this person is a overall loser and has lost more to the book than that win otherwise they would have never allowed the bet to be placed.

When online sportsbooks became legal you could actually take advantage of promos since many companies were willing to trade off some loss for a gain in marketshare, but most went under and there are only a few major players left. Nowadays all the promos are a small boost on a multi leg parlay that doesn't even cover a small portion of the added juice. They may have a decent sign up promo, but that's just to get you hooked, and even those are much worse than they used to be.
